Yep, was in Belgium this weekend, I disabled Roaming and I had zero data use for three days, not even the adverts in apps could be loaded.

If you keep checking it is going to drain the battery

Just pressing home and unlocking the screen to look at the battery widget every now and then would sap the battery that fast? Still, waking up after 7 and a half hours, the battery had gone from 49 to 42, so about 1% per hour. Instead of letting the screen go off by itself, I pushed the power button, don't know if that preserves the battery more. Even so, I still don't get why it would sit at 62% for nearly 3 hours, and now it seems to go down by 1% an hour. There has to be a % threshold perhaps below which the battery drains faster? Overall, I'm still quite happy, and currently battery uptime is 1 day 13 hours, 49 mins, 15 seconds. But that's mostly been on idle and with power saving mode enabled below 50%.

I'm on Cognition 1.06. Seems alright, although the roms still need to go a fair way before they really become worthwhile.

No doubt some on here will say totally different so all I can advise is you go and google the matter before buying one of those cases.

However, just for quick reference:

1. It can screw up your compass
2. It can screw up your screen
3. It can screw up your memory card (Ok slim but...)

Before someone says... I'm aware that it depends on how strong the magnet is, though you really shouldn't use a case with a magnet on IMO.

Also the manual states:

Do not use carrying cases or accessories with magnetic closures
or allow your device to come in contact with magnetic fields for
extended periods of time.

I'm pushing a full frame MKV onto the device... ripped from my bluray copy of UP. If it plays this I'm hailing it the "BEST" phone ever. It just played a 720p instantly, I am seriously blown away by this device.

Divx have some free to download 1080p videos that look amazing on the S2, best one is big buck bunny

Some PCs cant even handle full HD in that quality... yet this little handheld joy ploughs on through it and taunts you with sexy crisp images while it does it.

Oh... and it played the file instantly upon clicking play. Skipping took about 1-2 seconds, same as on my machine though running an i7.
