I wish I never go to sandybridge. I had the worst ever poor chip (i7 2600K) got BSD and not stable for 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6 all failed even on 1.34vcore. Not very happy. Going to sell it and I am gonna to stick with my i7 920 cherry chip.
 
No, my sandybridge are fine now. I had finally sorted it out because of incorrect setting at the bios. Now, got stable at 4.60GHz with HT and vcore just 1.344v and max temp 67C. All linx 25x passed and prime 95 overnight 8 hours had passed, Finally at last. Just my own fault of wrong setting at the bios.
 
I have just answered 'Yes', and expected to find that I was in the majority, but was quite surprised to find the reverse!

The trouble is, there is always something just that bit 'better' waiting round the corner!
 
Yes, but only because I could do it for free, someone wanted an overclockable system and I had a good for 4.2ghz d0 i7 and P6t deluxe & 3x2 1600 ram. I just wish my H50 had the proper backplate. I'm back on my TRUE for now, but I like the clean look of the H50
 
I clicked no, when this thread started.

But now I am, due to some birthday money and selling my CPU/RAM/BOARD I will replace them with i5 2500k Asus P8P67 Pro (on its way) and some RAM.

If I didnt then my birthday money would just get used for house hold stuff like every other year.
 
I was very, very tempted upon release. I managed to fight the urge (I currently have an e8500 clocked to 4Ghz so don't need to upgrade) but the temptation has returned and i'm struggling :(
 
Still stand my decision earlier in the topic - not enough of a gain over previous gen i7's to justify it

Heres hoping Ivy Bridge has a bit of oomph!
 
Originally voted no, but now yes. Just ordered the mobo (MSI P67A-GD53) and 8GB RAM (2x4GB, Corsair XMS3, 1.5V).

Price of SB (including 2500K) - all new from shops: £311
Sold X58 setup for: £285 - £10 posted
Total cost: £35 - ha :D

Sounds most good to me. Just itching to fiddle around with another chip/set-up...
 
Was going to wait for AMD to get their arse in gear but that hasn't happened so Intel were the main benefactors along with Asus ...:D
 
Looks like that free PC upgrade is possible so I guess I will wait for Zambezi...but then Sandy Bridge-E will probably appear shortly afterwards so I'll probably have to make a choice between the two.
