An Independent Scotland?

I think it's time to split the two countries, what do you think, what does scotland offer, unemployment and NHS drug abuse costs and of course North sea oil, which is disputed anyway as to where the boundaries lie. It would be nice to see England as it's own country for once, maybe make it more Americanised but not be influenced by the alcholic north? Thoughts?

I think that anyone who starts such a thread with nothing but insulting stereotypes isn't really interested in a genuine debate.
 
Scotland wants it's independance so I say let them have it. I believe England does pump a lot of money into Scotland so it would be a good thing for England to save the pennies.
If Scotland wants Scotland for themselves that is.

= profit
 
Just a thought but its the sort of thing that should be up to Scotland's population to decide. My own opinion is that their independence wouldn't be beneficial to Scotland or England (or Britain)

edit: how would it work anyway? Would I need a Passport to get into Scotland! I love Scotland and feel more akin to the Scots than Southern England!

They are on a geographical split of the resources according to GERS. The latest ones are out this week.
