What film did you watch last night?

Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters)

An intriguing story with a a very interesting mix of characters. It's a good film and well worth watching.

7/10

Just saw Bridesmaids at the cinema.
It's like female version of The Hangover. However girls can appreciate The Hangover. The cinema was cackling with laughter and hoots were heard. There were few male laughs though. It's not that bad but it's certainly not great. A lot worse films to be dragged to by your woman that's for sure.

The only joke I really laughed at, no one else in the cinema did and the girlfriend gave me an odd look. :(

Paul - Really enjoyed this alien road movie, have been a fan of Pegg/Frost since Spaced. So many in-jokes and references to other sci-fi films. 4/5

greatest sequel ever tbh.

cell 211, foreign prison film, really enjoyed it. 4/5

The Adjustment Bureau its was ok, but could have so so much more. 2.5/5

Age of heroes, I love war movies, this started slowly, and only had one real action scene, it was an ok brain off film 3/5

The girl who kicked the hornets nest, really enjoyed the trilogy, this film felt long, my wife assures me that the book is even more deteiled and it did well to cover most things well. 4/5

WWII Film Night - Blu-Ray Versions

The Longest Day - 7/10 even though it's the "Day" it stops about halfway through the Day! Good cast overall but some strange acting choices (Gen Gavin of 82nd who was mid 30's being played by an actor 60+ etc). The beach scenes where the best I'd seen (bar some obvious hollywood deaths) until Saving Private Ryan. The BR Disc had some nasty subtitles that only showed about 50% of the dialogue and missed some important lines too!

The Dambusters - 9/10 but I'm biased :D although to be far is still holds up quite well and the leads seemed reasonabley authentic in their portrayals of Gibson/Wallis. The BR disc was very sharp and the extras were very well presented.

A Bridge Too Far - 10/10 There will NEVER be a war film made like this ever again. Huge cast of world class actors, Huge set pieces with hundreds of planes/tanks and 1000's of troops all without the aid of CGI just old school physical techniques and a story line thats rare in any film, the good guys didn't win! This is without doubt my favourite War film ever, even the music is soul strirring! The BR disc Looks and Sounds awesome considering the age of the film.

Unknown.

I came expecting another Taken and left disappointed. Its not an awful film, just an average one, plot is something thats been done before, and the 'twist' is so telegraphed that you will see it coming a mile away. Other than that, it killed 2 hours of my time and I wasn't bored so it cant have been too bad, I probably wouldn't watch it again though.

6/10

Wife and I watched Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels on Blu Ray last night. Both enjoyed it (I'd seen it before, she fell asleep on 1st viewing) but I also noticed how cheaply it was made :o.

Hangover 2 - three of us watched it and you could count the total laughs on one hand. Complete rehash of the first : 2/10

5 Days of War - A drama centred around a war reporter and his cameraman during the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008. Quite enjoyed it, had a Welcome to Sarajevo feel to it - though not as good as that. 7/10
