I've been burgled, WTF!

Anybody think its worth installing an outside CCTV camera, or will that not be worth it?

Preventing them getting in is always going to be better than filming them nicking your stuff, so maybe invest in better security instead. A good solid door, deadbolts, window locks and an alarm.

They must've thought you had something well worth taking if they took a chisel to your door. Lucky escape.

Yeah indeed. Very, very lucky! Got scene of crime lot coming over now. They reckon they might be able to figure out exactly what type of chisel or what-ever was used and link it with a known burgler. Or so they tell me.

Locksmith arrived, getting a deadbolt installed now as well.

They did the same thing to our Yale lock at Uni.

The got in through the small bathroom window on the top floor....

We were fairly sure the burglar knew the Ann Summers rep, my girlfriend went to 4 parties in the space of a month and the only place that wasn't done over, was her flat.

Her flat was a halls of residence with several locked doors etc etc.

LE3 was the joint second most burgled postcode at the time as well.

Quick update, police installed a deadbolt, spyhole, and window locks and alarms all for free! The cost of the laptop is pretty much offset by the free security update! Win!

Deadbolt - £10
Spyhole - £10
Window locks - £10 each (6?)
Alarm - £300+

So all that comes to around £380+

Not exactly a free security update seeing as everyone else has to pay for it and you lost a laptop most likely worth £400+.

Good job at getting something off the police i suppose, when my bike got torched they did **** all to help. We had CCTV with clear pictures of the peoples faces and they never did anything about it. They even knew who it were.

Call the police (non urgent number), then post about it on an internet forum.

Thank god you got the order right oh no wait..

Seen this just after commenting on his R.I.P thread.
Sadness from seeing that he had died has been counteracted somewhat, by a smile.

Not easy to pick, but notoriously easy to just kick in, as far as I'm aware.
Multipoint uPVC ?

I tried to kick one in once (don't ask :()
14 stone, flying kick with a good run at it - nothing
repeated the same process about ten times - nothing

They shake about a lot but they don't break, although it's interesting that such activities in a quiet cul-de-sac attract no attention whatsoever

The key barrels they typically use can be upgraded, can't recall the company but it's something like Abus
