North Indian dishes, unless you're eating a biryani, are not meant to be eaten with rice. The vast majority of them are eaten with bread (a roti at home, which expands when you go out to naan, laccha paratha etc). Same, much rather mop it up with Bread products than rice.
I go for chicken Makhani
