Glastonbury 2011?

Jimmy Eat World set was amazing - starting again on the red button after Aloe Blacc in a few minutes. Make sure to catch it on iPlayer - they played loads off Bleed American.

I'm not a massive coldplay fan but they were awesome tonight, I would have been properly enjoying myself if I was there!

lol...

you do know coldplay are a carbon copy of U2, and rip off so much of what they do?

That doesn't mean they aren't a better band...

(I'm not a U2 hater, just don't like the logic that taking inspiration from other bands/artists makes you bad at what you do).

If James was on about the Glastonbury performances, then I totally agree with him.

U2 were leaden-footed, joyless and unengaging - they only got going with "Get Your Boots On", which was at least half an hour into their set, iirc. Surprising from a band with such an established track record of entertaining huge crowds. It was a surprisingly perfunctory performance; no more.

Coldplay, by contrast, were full of life, happy to be there and made an effort to entertain a Glastonbury crowd. And it showed, even to someone like me, who finds their music utterly uninteresting.

To be honest I was shocked that U2 got a better reception to "Yellow" than "Pride" as well as many of the other songs which would be considered classics.

Haven't had a chance to catch Coldplay yet but I did think U2 were great, the stripped down set was certainly different than their recent concerts and the addition of "Out of Control" was very welcome at the end.

by all reports U2 got a great review for last nights gigs, but you as joe public are entitled to your view. Coldplay are a bit more girly and have a massive female following, they are also more relevant being younger and will stir up the with some of there pop hits,

i like both, and have seen cold play twice and U2 five times, Bono is 51 years old now and Chris Martin is 34, the audience are going to be more aware of Coldplay and will know all the songs.

there is inspiration and then ripping off, he even stole Bono's trademark "thanks for giving us the best jobs in the world" and lying down next to guitarist on stage... when i saw them,

i don't want to **** them off, they are good, but would say a girls version of U2, a ladies band :P

loved some of there new tracks and will look fwd to the new album, sadly another habit they have got from U2 is taking there times over album releases :D

i think they were a little out of there comfort zone, but really kicked in after a few songs, i dont think the rain helped, i saw Kings of Leon in the wet a few weeks back and that kinda sucked, saw the Foo Fighters the next night in the sun and they kinda won...

Out of Control was fantastic, but Streets was amazing for me

Well, I thought Friendly Fires and Elbow were awesome if you're into them. I'm hoping they put Janelle Monae's set up though as it was something else.

Everyone knows U2 are the most overrated band in the history of music.

Aside from, sometimes you can't make it on your own...that one's a bit of a tune :p

kinda like saying Barcelona FC are overrated, stats and people that know say otherwise and you look a bit of a tool :p
