just installed crysis 2 to give it a whirl my spec is in my sig below everything on max setting, now it starts you off in the sub you move when it gets destroyed and on fire and have to escape, i fall down the hole, then go to help the guy get the door open, the instant i press F on keybaord the pc turns off, then reboots again saying windows did not shut down correctly ect...

im thinking its to do with my power supply? not enough power? or could it be somthing else?

i disabled my overclock to try again and still the same, i can stay in the sub bit at the beggining for ages without it turning off, its just as soon as i go to open the hatch then bam! gone

ive ran heaven benchmark at top settings and that doesnt cause pc to turn off, also bioshock 2, duke nukem, fear 3 all fine just crysis 2 thats doing it?

Have you updated Crysis 2 to the latest patch? 1.8 I believe.

It can't hurt if you haven't.

I think 1.9 is due out shortly with DirectX 11 support.

The only thing that jumps out at me is the voltage you have your OC at. I'm running my 2600k at 4.5 with 1.35V, so maybe yours is a bit unstable? Try running the game windowed and not full screen, and use something like RealTemp or CPU-Z to keep an eye on your temps and voltage, see what happens.

So it quits crysis and reboots on the keypress to open the door in the submarine section at the beginnning of the game?

I really dont think it has anything to do with overclocks and power supplies if you can stay in the game as long as you want without crashing prior to pressing a keyboard button to open the door. Im guessing when you use the keyboard to move the character to the door it plays fine, what I mean is, your keyboard and mouse and graphics are fine up to when you open the door in the sub?

My guess its software based with the game install, maybe the key bindings are messed up somehow, I dont understand why but if the game is running fine up until you press one key then I just dont see how it is hardware, it has to be software no?

Or (maybe) your keyboard is at fault? Or the keyboard socket? Is is USB or PS/2? Try a different keyboard?

my oc is fine runs prime for 24hour solid with no blue screens or stopped workers, passes all lynx/intel burn tests ect...

the movement is fine as i have to playfor around 2-3mins to get to that part i ca npress f anytime during that bit and its fine up untill the guy goes give me a hand to get the door open then i move to it, press F and off it goes :(

i uninstalled it again and reloaded it, updated to 1.8 and still exactly the same, its deffently not a power issue as else the benchmark would make it do the same as that uses all its power to see what max fps it can do

its annoying me thats for sure, perhaps i should wait for 1.9 to come out

1.9 sorted it but keep getting constant crashes with the game, i can now get out of the sub but as soon as i swim to the surface where the aliens are first sighted the program hangs and then goes back to windows saying a program error has occured, now i know why i stopped pc gaming years ago :(

why not at least try it with ur cpu at stock? only takes 5 minutes (with saved profiles). actual problems dont always show up in benchmarks

Still sounds game related to me, maybe pretty obvious but have you tried reinstalling it?

As stated above also try running your cpu at stock.
