****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Smells of an Outlook permissions issue to me, although I could be wrong.

Outlook asked me to allow the sync app when I first used it and touch wood its been fine since....

if i put an appointment directly in to web google calendar outlook syncs fine

if i enter it to my phone, then it goes to google calendar, then outlook doesnt sync that appointment

how can outlook know it came from the phone originally ?

Well you can back up your messages to your sdcard with plenty of apps and I am sure there are similar things for the phone log if you really need to make a backup of it. But from what I have heard Kies is rubbish. Hence I never use it and have never needed to.

Have you tried Business Calender to see if that's the same? I use that exclusively.

Brother just received this in the post (he's not here, so of course i opened it!) he got it basically because i told him to :P

Me playing with it confirms me buying it myself once my contract nears it end soon in a month.

The back casing made me lol, but wouldn't bother me, as it's not like i'll be taking it on and off. Astounded by how light it is ... super fast etc.

Top phone, and can't wait to get my own, my brother got it on 'Three' by god don't they half load it with crap!

Yes, they're linked to your Gmail account not the phone.

Awesome thanks! Actually I was meant to ask this before, All the purchases I've made show in my email address & shopping area of my Google account But if I visit the market from a PC it says this "There are no Android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account."

It is the same email account  Any idea why it is doing this?

thanks for the info earlier guys - just trying to get to grips with it and ensuring it all works ok before I butcher it with root and a new rom :)

I have rather large hands and am amazed how quickly it slips away! - Need a darn case and fast! - Like the look of the official SGSII one.

BTW - The T-mobile deal isn't capped at 3G like someone else on another thread was claiming ;)

Has anyone got or know of some good examples of some nice home screens and widget set-ups? I have been playing around and cant seem to find the right combo!!!!

Any screen shot threads?

I HATE screen protectors! Just spent the past 3 hours trying to get one on this phone without any specs of dust in it, and it's damn near impossible, i remove one bit with sticky tape, and somehow another bit of dust gets in there!! Screw it, taking my chances without the protector!

This phone is just nuts. I took it on holiday and turned the data and wifi off the whole time and charged it 4-5 times. After a charge it would mostly last 2-3 days which is what I would expect for very light use - but one day it just dropped like a stone to 40% when it was just sat in a drawer (with good reception).

It's done it again today, i've used it a little but it's on 13%

Other days I can quite happily watch 3 hours of videos and still have some juice left at the end of the day.

I've had the same recently, no apps on the battery status showing issues but the phone does show as always awake and that's what kills the battery,

Need to investigate with power tutor I think

Does any of you guys know how to re-add minimalist text widget to the home screen? Iv used them before when using launcher pro but now IV switched to go launcher I can't figure out how to get them back without redoing them even though there saved in minimalist text.

IMO if you're sensible and are careful with your phone, it's mostly pointless anyway (same goes for cases). I've had my HD2 for almost 2 years and there's not a single scratch on it... plus the SGII uses Gorilla glass which will make it even less prone to scratches/cracks etc.

Obviously it's horses for courses, but personally I've never used a fugly case or screen protector and I've never had a scratched or damaged phone.

Probably jinxed it now and I'll drop my SGII within a week of receiving it. :o

Try to break the back casing....... You won't be lolling then, the things pretty much indestructible.
