i used western digital data life guard diagnostic, it was the one in the software section for the drive, if i have to RMA, do i send it back to overclockers or WD as i only got it today
So i have now try HD Tune 2.55 and done and full test and it did not come up with any problem, i have also scanned with window disk checker and it found bad sector to, so if i RMA, what will overclocker use to test it, as i don't want them to turn around and say it working and then charge me
Restart the comp and run the bad sector test again, if you can zero sector it a few times. With WinDlg I've found it can pick up false positives, and any actual positives can often be fixed with a few attempts at zero sectoring.
RMA to place of purchase. Every hdd i've zeroed out at work (basically windows machines but roaming profiles so no data held on machine, hdd integrity dosen't matter so much) has eventually regained some more and died at some point. Would use WDs DOS based program or Seatools (Seagates, but works on all manufacturers disks)DOS based to test before to make sure though.
so i send back the hard drive and got a new one , but i think this one is broken to, any idea, the western digital software and seatool both come up with errors, do i have to rma this one to
