It's not a bad expansion but you'll most likely spend a couple of hours on it and go back to vanilla straight after.

It's a nice change if you get bored of the modern setting, though.

I think there's a way to register a Steam version of BFBC2 as Deluxe and getting Vietnam essentially for free but I wouldn't know about it :)
 
So bloody annoyed, EA still sell vietnam for a tenner when steam sells BC2+vietnam for less than the price EA charge for the expansion! argh! wish you could mix non steam BC2 with Steam vietnam key :(
 
Vietnam was good around Christmas time when it was popular, you could find some good servers, but now, its no longer popular, there are few servers and it tends to be very one sided or just full of grenade spamming choke points.

Plus the Vietnamese snipers look ridiculous!
 
Yep, you already have vietnam as the games latest patch includes the nam files, simply enter the code from steam to unlock the content.

It's not the key that doesn't work, Steam won't allow you to purchase Vietnam without owning the base game.

You have bought the base game somewhere else, and Vietnam on Steam - this is not possible, because Steam will not sell Vietnam to someone who does not have the base game on Steam.

Anyway, it's probably best to buy BFBC2 on Steam for a fiver and register as Deluxe on Origin, then get the key from there and enter in BFBC2 from Steam to tie with your account :)

might be worth noting that there was a few posts on here the other day about BFBC2 looking like it had vietnam access on their origin accounts, but when they tried to launch it, it asked for codes etc. so it would be worth checking it works before the sale ends and the price for vietnam goes up
 
Anyone get CTD issues when using the Server Browser? I've just installed Windows 7 and every time I go into the browser and change some of the filters, it just crashes to desktop!

Really annoying! Googled it and people have had trouble with it but I can't seem to find a fix.
 
Never had any issues with the server browser, been using win7 since release. Ive had ctd's, freezes on map loading, and ingame, but theyve been punkbuster and afterburner related.

My fair share of CTD's during game play but never in the menu system. how very odd :(

Ive had the ctd's, freezes even with stock gpu's and cpu. If afterburner is running with the rtcore.cfg fix, things are fine. My gpu's are only at 750mhz, (stock is 630mhz), which are pretty modest on a gtx 470, every other game i play runs flawlessly.
