Ryan Reynolds

I think a lot of it is to do with his reputation among the directors.

They praised him in the DVD extras for blade 3 for his work ethic and attitude. They explained he went through months of training beforehand. I believe he was less than 10 % bodyfat when he filmed blade 3

He apparently claims he was 3%

For work ethic and getting your body right Christian Bale appears to be the master!

However, I'm sure I could motivate myself for a multi-million $ movie deal.

Leaving the body aside for now, as if you like that look he's got it sorted, but I'm on about his face. Compared to other movie stars he looks a proper geek. He's like that kid that claimed he made Napster from the new Italian Job. But a bit squintier.

The gf doesn't rate him, I'd say he looks rather dashing

I don't like most of the roles he's been given in films, but he is awesome in Buried and Amityville Horror. About time he had some more serious roles instead of the rubbish chick flick stuff that gets churned out

As much as you think, he just isn't "average".

Why are you're obsessing over a bloke's looks?

As for him as an actor, I think he's ok but nothing stands out with him. He does seem to get the same roles over and over making him pretty much typecast.

Is that aimed at me? I wouldn't say I was obsessing

I just don't see any attraction. If I don't understand something, am I not able to ask others? Isn't that the point?

He's often used a poster boy and that fragrance advert, it's not like Gilly was asking about Danny Trejo's good looks

As others have said, check out Buried if you want to see him acting as a different character to that which he usually plays.

It's also interesting to note that he took a really low budget indie film in order to play somebody different... which most likely shows a lot about how he is typecast for his roles in bigger Hollywood films. The entire film was nothing but an hour and a half of him in a box, and yet he carried it.

I have to disagree. Having recently watched Buried I am still recovering from the trauma of what was 1.5 hours of Ryan Reynolds wriggling around in a box, grunting, huffing and puffing. Given it's decent rating on IMDB, I had reasonably high expectations but, several days later, I am still finding myself marvelling at how bad this film was. Sorry Ryan Reynolds, your film was not 'terrific, claustrophobic, an endless thrill ride' or any other such plaudit awarded to it by critics - it was 90 mins of pure frustration (on the plus side, it was good advertising for Blackberry and their seemingly indestructable signal!)

I know lots of people enjoyed this film - sadly, I am not one of the them, but hey it would be boring if we all liked the same things

I agree he's average looking, he's no Nigel Slater but his abs are certainly doing him favours in the popularity department. He's like the male equivalent of Lindsay Lohan for me, can't really understand the appeal.

Thought he ruined Blade 3 too as both he and Jessica Biel stole camera time from Snipes. On the acting side if I wanted to watch a film with a 'Ryan' in I'd rather see something with Ryan Gosling or Ryan Phillipe before him.

He and Biel saved Blade 3 from a old fat past it Snipes. I am a massive Blade1&2 fan but the only reason Blade 3 is watchable is due to the part they played.

There was more wrong with Trinity than just Reynolds & Biel, the series really jumped the shark with them though, along with silly ipod product placements and goofy wrestlers. Snipes could have saved it!
