This - doesn't matter if you hesitate. The person behind shouldn't assume that you are going to go just because there is a gap. I will admit that it does annoy me when the person infront does this, but you don't ram their bumper!
Actually the Porsche was unscathed, not a mark on it. The front of her car was just low enough to push the plastic in on my bumper, I've popped the dent out but the paint has cracked and chipped.
The plan is not to go though insurance as she was very polite and apologetic and offered to cover the repairwork - I've had the damaged assessed by a local bodyshop and I'll be sending her a copy of the quote (approx £200 for bumper off + respray )

It obviously isn't the OP's fault, but we've all done it. As we're rolling towards a roundabout looking at the traffic, expecting the person in front to go only for them to just stop dead.
I've certainly done it before and it's times like these when i'm happy i have decent tyres/brakes!
