Just pondering whether to go to this years War and Peace Show so I had a look at last years shots.
Forgot I had this random shot of the Red Arrows, been nicer if the flags had been in focus.

A portrait of my cousin taken yesterday. He NEVER has pictures taken so this pic is somewhat of a miracle :p

Cousin by Robbie Khan, on Flickr

I used 2x Yongnuo YN-560s bounced with RF-602 wireless receivers to trigger. f/1.4, natch.

This lens will be with me to my grave I tell you!

Seriously loving that dog shot. Couple of mine from last week - first photos to appear on this thread so go easy! Still have so much to learn but loving every minute - even when it goes horribly wrong!

how do you make the colours so bright?

Most photographs can benefit from some post processing when they come out of the camera, particularly so if shot in RAW format since very little processing is carried out in the camera. JPEGS tend to have some processing applied already.

Having a correctly calibrated MOnitor (or as near as you can) helps.

Then you use image processing software.

Adobe Photoshop
Lightroom 3
Photoshop Elements

are some of the most commonly used software. There are free programs you can use as well such as

GIMP
Picasa

Very simply to get nice bright colours, you can increase saturation a little. You can also alter contrast and brightness.

Take a look at

for a very brief overview of what is a massive subject.

Only had a camera for a few weeks.

A few that I have taken holiday. I'm learning so go easy guys.

#1 #3 #4 are all good. I think a little PP on the sky in the #3 #4 would make it an awesome shot. Really nice lines and the image just flows. #1 has a really nice feel to it :)

Damn you and your sharp lens, canon's kit lens are ****

3 Is a top shot though :D

Thanks.

I think I'm starting to get my eye in. Well I did take nearly 5k shots in a week. Ok a number of them were on auto 5 sec int of sunsets.

I'm trying to narrow them down to just the best ones and then archive the "normal" type holiday shots.
