Fed up with my iPhone 3GS, looking for my next upgrade.

I think all contracts are moved to 1 month rolling after they expire, they don't ever terminate them without you actually asking them to... not surprisingly :p

I think I'll take a wonder into the nearest Vodafone store and have a play with some handsets, this is really the only way I think I'll be able to decide.

Thanks all for advice given.

:)

I "should" still be within the initial 12 month period. The chap I spoke to the other day said it appeared i'd always had a 1 month rolling. I went on 12 month as after quidco it worked out £7.50 per month for 600mins 500texts and data. 600mins has not been enough lately, last months bill was £198!

That is a tad steep!

I've found that most iPhone users upgrade to the latest iPhone on the market. Whilst I love my androids, the iPhone is generally easier and smoother in use, but lacks the full functionallity of what droids have to offer for a tech head. Go see for yourself ;-)

I switched from an iPhone 3GS to a SGS2 for a change and it took me 2 weeks to get to grips with the phone and getting it to sync with my iMac etc. Now I've done so I love it, I've got all the apps I need, a decent music player and the phone is very fast. Will have a look at the iPhone 5 when it comes out but it'll have to be something very special to get me off of the SGS2

I tried to order the SGS2 Vodafone deal I posted above but the Vodafone site had loads of certificate/security errors and then the order process broke so they obviously don't want my money! lol!

Will try again tomorrow.

However my iPhone 3GS has developed appalling battery life even with wireless, location services, push notifications all turned off and screen brightness at nearly off. I pick it up out of its cradle at 9am make a few calls, browse the web a bit and by 3pm the battery will be ready to die. I'm not about to pay apple £55 for a replacement as I am due a free handset upgrade.

A couple of times my 3GS software has 'gone bad' and done that to my battery life. Even if I close all apps, the usage time is the same as the standby time in settings. I've re-installed the software and it has fixed the issue. The last time was about 3 months ago and it's still fine now.

Have you tried with a different browser, or over the phone?

I wanted to secure £100 Quidco so had to order online. Just tried again and it's all working now. I chose to have it delivered to a store as staying in for delivery is a pain.

My GF has an older Android device that's quite slow. What do you think I could get for my 3GS. It's a year old (apple replaced) but I had the digitiser replaced and I've noted a crack near the dock connector. I'm just wondering if I should give her my 3GS or sell it and get a better Android device, she likes Android.

I'm currently with T-Mobile but not impressed with network coverage, despite Orange merger (iPhone doesnt seem to like switching back and forth much anyway!).

Where do you struggle with coverage to?

I am on the road a lot of the time and I don't think my iPhone likes all of the T-Mobile and Orange switching as it'll just end up with no reception. A reboot or flight mode on/off seems to cure it. The 3G feels very sluggish too.

I know what you mean with the switch back to t-mob, it's highly annoyingly slow or doesn't happen at all.
Bristol area (except some parts of north bristol) seem more than fine though for me. Not been out and about across the country for a while so not sure on anywhere else.
