800m from cab. Synced at 40/10.

Sorry, I was slightly sleep deprived. Yes, it went live today. I have Fibre Office Plus. Expensive but I won't settle for an inferior connection. :p

Has your ping in general changed since the first 10 days or just to that particular address?

Yeah it's changed in general, on average it's increased by 30-40ms, however if I ping to american servers it's the same as it was in the first 10 days which is quite weird if you ask me.

Thanks for the help guys with the ping checks, appreciate it.

I've had an interesting time with my infinity order. I’m moving back to BT for both my landline calls and broadband from O2.

I got a phonecall from the infinity team the day after placing my order to say that they'd need to temporally cancel the infinity side of my order until the migration of my phone service is complete from O2 back to BT. They need the line to be in BT hands before they can process the infinity order further, they've set a flag to contact me on the 13th July to re-instate the infinity order.

My equipment order is still due for delivery on Friday and the infinity team were confident they'd be able to keep my original install date of next Tuesday. Guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Right got my Infinity reordered should be going live next Wednesday . I'm still wondering weither or not to use the HH3 or if I should switch to a Netgear WNDR3700?

Have'nt got it yet, installed Friday.

Been reading over at the BTCare forum how many people have had them replaced due to either overheating or going faulty.

Looking at this Draytek Vigor v2750n it seems you can do away with the openreach modem and HH3 and just use the v2750n.

Here's a link to someone who replaced both OP Modem and HH3 with the v2750 HH3-for-first-10-Days-or-Immediate-swap-to-Draytek-Vigor-2750N

Damn HH 2.0 has started random restarting, already done it 3 times in last hour whilst gaming online. :(

Need to change it, so question is do I call BT and complain and ask for a HH 3.0 or buy my own 3rd party router? If so, which is a good one to go for?

My BT engineer is aware of the overheating issue. Apparently they're now using a new batch of VDSL2 modems.

Can you tell when I switched over? :p

Loving fastpath.

White openreach VDSL modems are exceptionally prone to failure in certain limited batches, but most just are heat touchy, they may last weeks or months only time will tell. ALWAYS wall mount (and not behind a freaking curtain rail )

Guess I can concur with this, mines had no faults since last September and its just been sitting on a wooden cabinet with the HH2 on top of it, it did get rather warm verging on hot but never seemed to hinder it. Since I've really read about these overheating problems i've made a cradle for mine that holds it sideways (So the ports are vertical to the ground. From looking at the vent locations and also the heat sink its the most efficient way to use convection to your advantage)

I've been trying to find an answer to a potential problem without much success.

I've just noticed that my flat's BT Master Socket is in my fuse cupboard by my front door with access to no electrical points. My current ADSL router is plugged into an extension socket in my study next to my network switch and PC's.

Will the Openreach engineer be able to change the extension socket in my study to become the master socket?
