Why do people buy into apple BS?

Well now thats not very nice. I have no problem with anything Apple related apart from the pricing. Thats it. If someone can justify Apple pricing then I will happily concede that Apple are the greatest company on the planet.

As I see it currently I would be paying more for inferior hardware (but only just, in the mobile market. Although the metal casing is nice, I really don't like the plastic feel of the SGS give me an HTC any day) and closed software which admittedly is not an issue for most people.

had a galaxy 2 but sold it and got an iphone 4. galaxy build quality is laughable. its like a cheap piece of plastic.

Neither do I, but how many people you know say that they want a new mobile phone compared to they want a new iphone? I would think that most people would say an iphone however if someone says they want a new tv they would probably just say a "42 Inch tv" and not specify a brand or a model.

And as a result of that you have better app and media options, I'll take those over what you've listed as it's a tablet after all, it can't (and shouldn't) replace my laptop if I need to do actual work on it.

It's actually pretty high quality plastic but I know it's not really very popular with some people. Samsung want to keep it light, and they can't do that with glass and metal.

They simply don't know any better, but people are slowly learning apple's a fools market. none of their products are better than alternatives, no matter what you do with them.

They are different products slightly. Neither is better. You want USB and storage. I want media device.
As I said it comes down to personal preference.

That's because of marketing. People do go asking for hoovers or dysons, instead of vacuums as an example of the same thing in other markets

I think we'll have to agree to agree that the other is clearly wrong... I have both but since it's not Apple and IOS it's still an on par/better product because it's different? Odd argument but c'est la vie...
