Why do people buy into apple BS?

I do agree that Apple's mobile hardware is pretty good but others are on-top of them now so maybe iPhone 5 will be an improvement and have 1080p video and a higher res screen and dual core.
Assuming a new Iphone has the CPU/GPU from the Ipad 2, there wont be a phone like it on the market for pure power...
Until the SGSIII is released, and then this thread will be born again.

Before that thread though, the android fanboys will start a thread stating why their beloved phones aren't the best.... because they are a year old blah blah the iphone5 is brand new it would be better blah blah. All the things being said here in defence of the iphone4 but being dismissed will be used to defend the android crap.

Just to clarify, you used the phrase Android crap, not me :p
Just need to hold out until morning, full moon you see .. come morning the Android'ers will be back in their section of the forums and we can all relax in peace for another 12 months :D :p

Well after the iphone5 is released we can call their crap crap, just like they call the iphone4 crap for being old tech :P

Architecturally Mac OS is a better OS; it isn't subjective.

Whether or not someone prefers X to Y is indeed subjective.

However, when you break it down from an engineering perspective and approach it pragmatically, Mac OS is the better operating system. There are 'mostly right' ways to design an operating system and there are 'mostly wrong' ways. Mac OS has more 'mostly right' design decisions, Microsoft Windows has more 'mostly wrong'.

Fortunately Microsoft are patching the 'mostly wrong' areas, but it still suffers systemically from the same 'mostly wrong' design decisions they need to continue for legacy.

But your average Joe doesn't give a monkeys about which OS is architecturally better. Heck, I'm a proper geek and this would never enter into any equation I use to decide on what hardware/OS to buy. Funny how if an Android user starts getting geeky they get told the normal user doesn't care about such things, but then you are using the exact same approach to justify OS X over W7.

IMHO, OS X and W7 are almost neck and neck when it comes to my user experience. Yes, for some OS X may be better, for others W7, but there is very little between them for the majority of users.

Anyway, not sure how I got dragged into this thread:p Each to their own as far as I'm concerned (ex-iPhone, current Android, W7 and OS X user).

Oh and another thing; 99% if people do not give a rats arse whether their bit of kit is the fastest, best video shooting, Flash toting whirylgig on the market. Everything is out of date two months down the line so no one cares. Unfortunately that's a bit of logic lost on a forum based around overclocking. ;)

Average Joe wants what they see other people with or their friends have, hence the popularity of Blackberry's in this country with the younger population.

I saw somebody on Facebook a few weeks ago with the question "Should I get an iPhone 4" (she had an Android previously) about 25 people all said "yes they're the best" with a couple suggesting the SGS2.

Peer presure or whatever the sales guy in X phone shop convinces you to get is what most people will buy.

Not quite, all the young chav's want BB's because of the BBM, they never have to top up and can still text each other.

Out of interest, what's so good about W7? I have it running under Parallels on my Mac and as far as I can tell, it's not dissimilar to Vista with the same old bugs that have plagued Windows since Win98. The only reason I have it at all is that I like to play the odd game and you need DirectX for that.

Yep. There's a reason for the incongruous popularity of Blackberry's among kids.

Mind you... Apple are talking of getting into that with free iPhone-iPhone messaging.
