Good backup drive?

Hey all, looking for a good/best backup drive, seeing as I don't actually have one and I guess it'd be kind of wise to get one now, haha.

I'm thinking an external backup HD is the way to go? Which one would you guys recommend and why? Thanks.

Edit: Oh, for space, 1TB+ should be fine.

I would recommend Western Digital as they have always been rock solid for me. That's my experience

I just got a new Western Digital 2TB drive today so can't comment as of yet but I've never had any problems with Buffalo drives.

Whatever is cheapest really. Do you have eSATA or USB3? These are a lot faster than USB2 and the latter is easier to use. You can also get a caddy and add your own disk if you want more flexibility, and often a lower price.

Yeah, I've got USB3.

Caddies, eh? I always thought they were more expensive :confused:

edit: searched them up. I see what you mean now. Don't you put them in the computer itself? or am i just being retarded hahah

edit 2: Oh, I was thinking you meant a hard drive enclosure or something like that.

I meant an external hard drive enclosure with USB3. Usually cheaper than a purpose built external drive.
