Battlefield 3 no XP support

Can't believe it took me so long to switch from Vista to W7 Beta/RC, never mind XP.

Still have to support XP at work...ugh. (My laptop has Windows 7 though ;) Perks of being in IT, get to intercept the new kit and send old stuff down the line)

It took me about a year to get on vista but I snapped up w7 very quickly because I did not enjoy vista very much.

I'm looking forward to what ever comes out from Microsoft next tbh as I really do feel that they are finally understanding how to make the OS better and not simply just change things.

My mate upgraded to vista before me and using it really put me off it. Windows 7 though is brilliant, Isnt the new os just going to include more cloud and tablet functions?

To tell you the truth I haven't looked into the new OS as researching such things doesn't really excite me. If that is the case then maybe the next OS is more a marketing stunt than an improvement. I would stick with w7 then. That would be a shame though.

How can I get to ignore idiots like that! were is the option ?

your the 2nd one to join the "failing to see the sarcasm" club,, congrats on being the latest member along with Frapple <3

Attention to all future members of the "failing to see the sarcasm" club, as of today we have recruited 2 idiots (siege2 and Frapple), this is the most idiots that the club allows per group, please make sure your IQ is above 7 and your sarcasm-o-meter is working before applying, unlike the 2 idiots that joined today

Maybe the sarcasm is what got you ignored :p

i must address my sarcastic attitude tbh, getting ignored by 2 randoms realy hurt me phychologicaly, im not sure if i can take much more, the stress has already caused me to spell phychologicaly incorrectly :(

I can pip in Win7 is worth having. I never bothered with vista as it was a hog without purpose to me and win7 is a memory hog but with style.
If you do upgrade get 64bit so you can join the 21st century with 4gb + available to a game

Still havent managed to get java/browser to stop crashing when it is used a lot but in theory 64 bit is useful for big apps

Is your printer that old?

not really its a HP Photosmart 1315, ok it is 'OLD' but it has GOOD printing Quality!
and the scanner is a OneTouch 9020, its so advanced it can print negatives! :o :o :o
both won't work on win7

the main point being that XP is by far the most 'compatable' OS to date, it can run both old and new hardware/software just as good as win7 can (as long as its 32 bit) :)

the only things XP can NOT do are:
'see' more than 3 GB of RAM
Play Just Cuase 2, Shattered Horizon, BF3
Run Direct X 10/11
Run 64 bit software
Run a stock Q6600 at '27 GFLOP's' instead of '25 GFLOP's under XP'
-END OF LIST-

and i find that 2 GB of RAM it still more than enough for any game out now and it will take many years untill they start making games then 'cannot' work on 2 GB so..
why do i need an 'upgrade'???

You can dual boot to win xp or win 7 very easily. It takes like 60 secs to switch back and forth

Modded up, even BF2 will use more then 2gb. BF3 will massively take advantage of 4gb I believe.
Even if you did own a 2gb graphics card, it must be allocated alongside the 2gb and not exceed 3.75 under 32 bit so its already true that xp is restrictive
