****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Where theres a will theres a way! - I really can't believe how many SGSII users are so negative to those of us that want Sense on it! It still amazes me especially on XDA how people are so insistent on not giving others a choice in what they use! Its not as if they HAVE to use it aswell!!!

I'm not being negative, merely realistic :)

If someone does port it then fair play but you'll be in the minority of people using Sense on the S2.

I had it on my Desire and personally couldn't wait to be rid of it. Likewise with Touchwiz.

Have an issue guys, flashed to the KF3 ROM but now I can't get any data signal? I have phone signal but there's no GPRS like there should be :( What can I do to get it back?

what is going on with these phones -.-. have you tried clearing the cache (in the recovery menu from bootup) and/or a factory reset

From what i've seen most people prefer sense and i'm guessing sgs2+sense would be able as good as it gets right now for a lot of people.

Sorry to ask a question which is completely different to the topic at hand, but I've had my handset for about 2 months now and was wondering what I can do with it. My previous handset was an iPhone 3G and I never really got into the jailbreaking side of things, I did JB it but found Cydia to be a horrible experience which wasn't helped by the limitations of the 3G's hardware so I quickly reverted back to vanilla iOS.

With this being my first Android handset I know that they are highly customisable and I'd like to try and expand my knowledge on it a bit. There are a few things I'm not happy with and would like to change.

Firstly, is there anywhere that I can get more themes for my SMS conversations? Secondly is Swype worth sticking with? I enabled it, couldn't really get on with it and switched back to standard typing but if practicing will make my typing much faster then I'd rather go through a few days of typing like a spaz before I get the hang of it. Also there's one other thing which probably sounds stupid but I'm struggling to find anywhere that has decent quality wallpapers for my SGS2. I downloaded an app from the Market called HD wallpapers (I think), it has a huge range of walls but none of them seem to really fit my screen properly. The sides, top, or bottom are always cut off and therefore I don't get to see the wallpaper as intended. Is there a way to change this?

If there are any other things that are recommended then I'm open to suggestions. I really like the look of iOS and I like things "clean". At the moment I have no idea how to go about making things the way I want them. One other big annoyance is the "dock" icons, sorry I don't know what they'd be referred to on Android but they're the icons at the bottom of your home screen, the shortcuts to messaging, internet, apps etc. The standard icons are a bit boring and I downloaded GO Launcher EX which made the icons sort of glassy but they still look quite horrible.

One other thing I've noticed is that some of the better rated apps seem to be developed by Chinese companies and as a result the instructions have quite bad English. Is this something that's quite common or have I just installed crap? I'm mainly talking about GO Launcher and the HD Wallpapers one.

I'm waffling, I'll shut up. :p

So someone on xda said he has improved battery life with his upgrade and stock ROM, so I assume he means just 2.3.4. There's so many things to download and install in these XDA threads I'm confused as to how to do it the simplest way. Can someone please give me a dummys guide on how to just change from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 without rooting, ROMS, etc? And is there a risk of bricking the phone?

Not sure who is reading this but I'm not a teenager and I don't want to get into an argument with anyone OK?

But this phone. Is bloody good. At being. A phone. It poos all over the iphone on call quality and reception

As a nice device to have and behold though it's a piece of cheap and nasty merde. As a music playing device it is utterly crepe.

It's a korean Iphone clone. It has no class but I still love it for what it does .

It makes being on the telephone actually quite easy.

Incredibly slim, lightweight, beautiful looking menus, especially once customised, and it has no class you say?
You want a good music player? Buy an ipod. You said it yourself, it's a phone and a very good one. That's it primary job and most people forget that. Personally, it does music fine from my experience. :)

Care to expand on "your experience" and how you listened?

I click on 'Music' in the apps drawer, and up comes All, Playlists, Albums and Artists. I click on a song via any of those tabs and it instantly plays.

I listened with my ears.
