So that somehow cheapens or lessens the severity of the abuse of being gay?
Because of what you just said, if you are a guy and say you have a boyfriend then you get the ridiculous crap you come out with slinged at them, if they say partner it could mean boy or girl.
Well it is because you just laughed it off saying that other people have it worse, so because they have it worse no one can speak about it?No, thats not the point im making.
I think you are perhaps being a bit sensationlist![]()
Thats the point. They use it as in excuse. The people who make the biggest deal about being gay, are gays.

What the hell sort of argument is this?!Are you gay?
I think it is probably a fact in this day and age it is better to be gay in england than from a ethnic minority from an abuse viewpoint.

Yeah, I'd totally rather my nan had cancer than AIDS.
Just google it, im not saying it happens every day but it shouldnt happen at all, the Ian Baynham case is the most recent one that sticks in mind. As for the abuse i regularly hang around with my gay buddy and his partner, they arent all over each other and making lewd remarks or actions in public like some homophobes here think that all gay people do, they like to hold hands and walking down the street with them i see first hand all the remarks, dirty looks, abuse they get. While i may come across as a bit sensationalist it just annoys me how disinterested people are about the abuse towards gay people.Where are you getting your gay bashing/murdering facts from?
I have just shown my mother (and actual real life gay) your comments and even she laughed at you.
lol at first i read that as "my girlfiends gay, ill quite happily give him a hug".My girlfriend's friend is gay, I'll quite happily give him a hug!![]()

The english language morphs and changes as society progresses (or doesnt in some areas), just because it used to mean scared of something doesnt mean that it has to now.Inaccurate labelling for political reasons annoys me, so I'm going to say this:
I'm not very scared of sameness, i.e. I'm not homophobic.
This ^.As long as they're not flauting in front of me (ie snogging etc) then no problem at all.
I'm not homophobic, my housemate at uni was gay and he's a top bloke.
What I would say is I'm probably 'campaphobic'. There's something about camp blokes (heterosexual or homosexual) that winds me up.
E.g. I don't mind Graham Norton but I can't watch Alan Carr.
I really can't stand the Arts and Culture correspondent on Channel 4 news.
