Canon 550d and the lenses were 60mm f/2.8 Macro usm for the Macro shots and a 70-200mm f/4L usm for the shot of the Heron.

Thanks. Quite similar photos to what I wanna ultimately do with my kit, although I need to buy a decent macro lense first I think.

Maybe you want to consider getting some extension tubes before you shell out money for a Macro lens ? as you can get good results for less cash.

Having said that I absolutely love my Macro lens. I just have to save up for a good Macro Flash.

Though I have a telephoto I'm not too impressed with it to be honest though ive only had it a month maybe it will grow on me ?

Macro's where its at for me. The subjects speak for themselves.:D

I've got a telephoto lens (sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG macro) but I haven't had chance to really test the macro out yet on it so don't know what/if I need to buy anything else just yet. Tonight I shelled out nearly £100 on a tripod so this new hobby of mine is getting as expensive as my PC one :D

At least your Having fun ! :D

Test your Macro out on creepie crawlies that you find around your house.

I just got this moth in my Hallway and then tinkered away with it in Lightroom.
