X3 terran conflict - Acquiring my first Freight ship and capturing

Ok then so I found some scripts for trading but I can't get the one I want to work.

Auto trader lock 1.0

It lets you lock sectors so UT's don't fly into them. Any suggestions on why it's not working? There is meant to be a command in the trade section on the command list to lock sectors but there isn't.

CAG is brilliant btw, allows you to use 1 freighter to do all the jobs for your station or select which ones and has a lot of settings.

I can't comment on trading to much but I prefer to start with Mines. You can google an asteroid database. Each mine has two trader ships. One buys ecells the other sells wares. The station is then set to auto transfer funds to my acc at around 200,000k+. This varies from station to station.

My next objective to to get a load of Sector/Universe traders.

The pro's amongst us leave the terran plot until we have a m7m and 5 5* marines... Its a little tricky but you can capture the #deca and keep it ;):D

Btw the #deca is a M1 with the firepower of a M2 :D the only problem is getting the weapons to fully equip it.

Holy hell! When does that come up. I'm on the second to last mission half way through it at the moment and I want that!

Question:

How do I "beam" my freight from one ship to another, apparently it's possible but I can't find a "beamer" anywhere and i'm literally on top of my other ship right now and can't transfer stuff.

Or do you just have to buy the disposable things. Guess just easier to dock somewhere.

If you cap a capital ship in a core sector does it respawn? What if you kill it? Otherwise you could just kill everything in the game surely?

My plan is to build an army of Q's for a laugh haha. For so long I spent my time running away from them, now I want xenon to run from me when I have them :P

You cant be on the second to last mission, thats the one with the #deca :D
The last mission is to deliver some dignitaries to earth.

Its the mission after they give you the Vidar, in order to capture you will need a m7m, 5 5* marines, 10-20 cannon fodder marines.

Send the cannon fodder marinesto capture the deca, once they are in load your elite squad into the m7m, launch the pod just after the last deck is cleared and they start hacking the computer. When the cannon fodder capture the ship control is turned over to the terrans (you dont get to keep it)

If you get the timing right your elite marines will enter the ship just after the cannon fodder capture the ship. Your elite marines will now slaughter any left over cannon fodder and re-capture the ship leaving it all yours :p ;):D:cool:



To beam freight between ships you need a transporter device on one of the two ships. You then need to be within 6k and an option will appear in the ship menu.

My plan is to build an army of Q's for a laugh haha. For so long I spent my time running away from them, now I want xenon to run from me when I have them :P

Q's re-spawn within a few min of killing / capturing them, other race ships will re-spawn given time.
 
Transporter device you say. Gonna have to get some of them. I'm interested to see how these supply commands work as well. Going to use my iguana vanguard to resupply the bigger ships with missiles and that when I get them. However I don't actually use missiles at the moment, I haven't yet got around to learning the different types and they seem like an I win button at the lower levels against m3's. Now that I have an m3 even the q's don't really bother me, just get on top of them and they can't shoot you haha.

I really want to get the vidar so I think i'll have to leave capturing the deca to another play through. I'm also looking forward to doing a pirate play through, looks tough.

As for which mission I'm on, well I'm currently trying to pin a tracking bug on an elephant and getting blown to pieces in this stupid freighter, going to try and use my m3 as a decoy but I might just end up saving up and getting an m6 and bringing that into the fight so I can get away fine. Even with 4x 25MJ shields on it I seem to get insta owned almost.

Glad they respawn, I presume the mammoths and that do too then as I might get me one of them and I don't fancy paying!
 
Might see if I can find a script to stop my ship from resetting it's "home" destination every time I get in it. I've got a zephryrus and I love it, so cheap too! Any ship under a couple of million seems like nothing now.

The jump drive takes 10 sec to power up, you can easily time it so you jump just seconds after the bug is placed.
 
From ship capping? Where did you do that :S. Just watching CdrDave's lets play and he's doing a pirate start and managed to cap two minstrel XL's right at the start so that's an easy 2mil in 10min.

Just discovered hitting ctrl does auto attacking so you don't have to aim. Did not know that.

watching that video no one ever bails likie that for me.

I've spent ages shooting them (taking shields down then just lightly damaging hulls, or just full on blasting them) they never bail. think I've had just 1 bail i nal lthe games I've played.


and doing exactly what he just did and stil lnothing.

Same, I don't have nearly the luck he does. Though maybe those particular freighters have lower moral than others?

Yeah I just tryed that but I did it too early, I'll get it next time. However at the same time I kind of feel like I wana fight haha. Much cooler to bring the fleet in to protect you.

This is my next mission. There's a youtube vid and it can be done with 20 maybe 30 3* marines. I just need to grab myself an M7M then I'm good to go. :D

Then leave your m3 by one of the gates in the sector, jump to that gate, swap ships and attack :D (remember to order the freighter to jump out of the system after you get in your fighter)

I just fly in strip the shields as quickly as possible then switch to a low hull damage weapon. Keep firing until they are dead, if they bail they bail. If not target the next ship and repeat. You should get at least a 10% of ships to bail.

If they haven't bailed by the time they are down to 1/3rd hull chances are they wont, it can be quicker to just kill them quick and move to the next one.
 
Ive got about 9 mil sitting around atm, thinking of making a new complex up or complex's.


Was thinking maybe a cahoona bakery plex in argon prime and another food plex in another races system.

Anyone got any ideas of some profitable complexes i could do?

My first complex was a Argon Food Factory Complex in Argon Prime.
Very safe due to lots of Argon patrols. Lots of stations in nearby sectors who are after Cahoona Meatsteaks, so you'll always have someone to sell to. Also a good number of SSPs around so there will normally be one selling EC for 12C. One transport for buying Energy Cells, one for selling Meatsteaks (I generally don't let other races trade with my station, so it's just my ships doing the selling), 3 jump limit (means they won't go wandering into the nearby Pirate sectors). Dump 250K in there to keep it stocked with EC.

Nice and simple starter complex to get the funds going.
