HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Guys I have set my mail up but it's acts strangely. Basically it seems like there are two clients setup for my gmail. If I get a few emails TWO Mail icons appear in the top left bar yet one seems more up to date than the other. One icon will list one email then the other icon has more icons for example....hard to explain, any ideas?!

Guys when I go to 'People' all my contacts show up (I sync'd my iPhone 4 with google before I sold it) but when I go to add a contact to my Favourites contacts from my emails and all sort come up, I don't see a way of filtering this? Any idea?

In people, edit a contact, and there should be tab/menu called groups
Is this what you are looking for?

can someone suggest me a new radio ?
Tmobile has issues with signal at my work and once I loose signal I am not able to reconnect but thats network, not mobile..

but Ive noticed that silly apples have better signal at work then my HTC's and they dont tend to loose signal as often as me... so want to try new radio before I will rething other brands as my new mobile...or network..

Thanks

Guys, I'm having an issue similar to that of the iphone4 when it was released except it's with the wifi and not the actual signal. When I touch the top left hand side of the phone the wifi drops to 0 bars. Take my hand off and it shoots up again. This is annoying as I sit the phone in my left hand so I'm always holding that area. Common issue or dodgy phone??

will test it once I get home as I havent noticed it earlier.

Just had my phone replaced by Vodafone as the screen colours were borked. The phone is a 'refurb' and it looks as new, no complaints there, but:

- The camera lens cover rattles and is loose. Not sure whether to bother getting this repaired or not.
- The firmware is now the Vodafone branded version. Whereas before I had a completely unbranded DHD, it now has 360 applications that I can't remove, a custom Vodafone firmware, and a Vodafone splashscreen.

Rooting solves the second point, but beware that this can happen if you send a phone back for repair (not that you'd presumably have much choice).

So does the phone go to the network provider rather than the manufacturer? In this case HTC

Vodafone cover the handset for the life of the contract so I decided it would be simpler and quicker to just send it back to them. I'm not even sure that HTC would have been prepared to deal with it as each phone number is I believe associated with a certain supplier, i.e. they would have known my handset was Vodafone and told me to chuck it back to them.

Anyway not too bothered about the branding as it's surmountable, but the loose camera lense...they blatantly just gave me one that someone else had rejected straight away. When I get back from holiday it's going straight back to Vodafone.

I'm on Three and getting the terrible wi-fi dropout. Never did this before. It will be ages before they pass the release on if at all they do.

Might be time to root. I have been educating myself but I still have not got my head around what to do if I have to return back due to repair. Is there a standard Three ROM available out there to put the phone back to standard?

I sent off my Desire HD to its new owner today. Got £255 quid. Think it was a mistake buying this as it was barely better than the Nexus One it replaced.

I think the Desire HD was a small blip in HTC's standards

Why didn't you like it mate? Until the vibration went kaput I really enjoy it.

I did like it :D, it was just a side step from the Nexus one, It was released too late and probably should have held off for dual core.

Good points
  • HTC sense is still awsome
  • Web browsing is smooth
  • lag free
  • Loads of awsome custom roms
  • Uni body looks and feels good.
  • Looks very sleek

Bad points
  • battery life is utter joke
  • Creeky and awkward bottom cover
  • Battery cover feels flimsy
  • Horrendus loud speaker
  • Camera was not that good for 8MP
  • Not very good at light metering
  • Proximity sensor randomly stops working
  • Always had a bad signal with HTC phones
  • Washed out blacks due to LCD screen, poor viewing angles
