PLEASE REMEMBER: YOU CANNOT TALK ABOUT COMPETITORS!

So this forum in the majority is made up of people that are quite clued up about pc's or people wanting to learn about gaming pc's and the games they play. Is it not a little insulting to our intelligence to expect that if you restrict talk of any other shops that sell games, we will only look here for games and buy one of the 8 you have on offer?
I can't see the logic in this? I can understand with regards to pc parts etc, but games no.

it's quite funny that the old thread that said you could name but not link has been deleted.

Yeah, I mean WTF, I clearly remember the rules so WTH do they want me to remember?!

And also, if you ban mentioning Retail competitors, you should ban Digital Distribution too. If you do that, it means no mention of Steam, otherwise it would be totally unfair and pointless or even unlawful.

Once you get to that stage, we can call it a goodbye. 99% of my posts were in the PC Gaming section lately because we were allowed to talk freely here and the people are nice.

steam
greenmangaming
direct2drive
and the new amazon uk store.. all good sources of games

so does the Amazon digital download thing need you to run a client like steam or origin or does it work like impulse where you sue the client to download but can use the games as a normal game without having to start it though the client?

if only i knew ;) the "impulse" way is clearly the best.. i do not mind steam running but if had to run steam, origin, greenmangaming's"capsule" client and AMAZON one it would really put me off some offers.. ;)

hopefully amazon's one along with steam and the others will be a big big enough chunk of the market they can wangle publishers into giving them a retail style system where they buy licenses to sell so they set their own prices and can compete with the major high street retailers, who they seem to be trying now to *** off with the digital versions.

Classic example of someone high-up dictating a blanket rule without a thought to the impact it has further down the chain, how it effects users or how it can be enforced.

Lol, that is pretty sad tbh.

Not going to make any difference as the prices are a rip off compared to most other game distributors and this is a forum for people who enjoy PC gaming so they are obviously going to know where to get their games from without needing to ask here first lol.

Could understand it if you had a large selection of games and actually had good prices but you don't :)

Origin, Capsule, Impulse, Gog.com (no DRM at all), Gamersgate (afaik) and a dozen of others, they're all unintrusive as they don't require you to have a client running once you install the game.

Create one common login on multiple Digital Download and you will never forget it anyway.

this has extracts from that thread i believe, no doubt inc ban for me however!

By all means, you can say that you bought such and such game from wherever, however it would be appreciated if you did not directly link to the site with said item, regardless if it's cheaper than OcUK.

It's safe to say mentioning = fine. Linking = no-no.

In fact, I'll open the sticky threads for the time being so if anyone has any questions then please post them in there, although please avoid posting pointless garbage.

So I went to **** today and bought **** and it was cheaper than **** which was good as I almost paid ***** for *****.
