Amy Winehouse found dead

None of us have been on crack cocaine. It's pretty obvious though that once it gets a hold, it is extremely difficult to give it up, so those saying she had a choice, well, that is debatable. I'm sure it's a LOT more difficult than quitting cigarettes or alcohol. That waste of space husband of hers, Blake, if it weren't for him she'd probably be alive still. On the other hand, if it weren't for the drugs, she may not have had the same success.

She had a choice to go to rehab and, as the song goes, she said no no no.

Winehouse's recent career was overshadowed by drink and drug problems

Oh **** off... She did them out of fame, not because of an addiction.

Thank god she has gone.

Awful singer, awful entertainer and a bloody druggie...

Another one down, many more to go.

Let me know when Lady Gaga kicks the bucket, she's on the same track as Amy

I respect those that show love and respect, those that try to fight cancer, a hero or someone who has brought some laughter to my family. Not some crack whore or someone who thinks they are above everyone else

People earn respect, Amy Winehouse did little or nothing to earn respect in life, I find it very difficult to give her any simply because she died.

That argument is flawed, and you know it. I am not saying she deserves respect, but I do not think she should be disrespected either.

They would be doing a lot of people a favour (like Amy Winehouse) if they stopped them getting away with it.

Indeed. It sends out the wrong message and is quite frankly unfair that "Dave" gets nicked for having weed on him, yet people such as Amy Winehouse can/could get away with it.

In other words, you can flaunt a whole lotta laws if you have money/fame.

What, like Winehouse wasn't showing contempt for life in the way she lived her life and treated her body?

not talking about Amy Winehouse per say

just saying its common practice for members of this forum to make jokes about people who have recently died whether it was self inflicted or not

i actually think some people are right in saying she deserved it and brought it on herself etc but doesn't mean its ok to make jokes about it

What has earning respect got do to with mocking her death. Yes we all know this was bound to happen etc but thats no excuse to insult someone hours within their death. No ones asking you to respect her anymore now thats she's dead. Maybe just a show some sympathy to her family/friends.

Just good british manners..

Cool, let's all search the web for something tragic that's happened in life & then post it here, to show how the fact that a young woman has died (irrespective of how) doesn't matter at all!

In the scheme of things her death really doesn't matter. Life will go on and Amy Winehouse is no more entitled to immortality than you or I.

Does Amy Winehouse deserve more respect or honour than the 11 people in that train crash, or the 5 soldiers who died in Afghanistan this week?

I think not.

As much as she was a druggie and had a lot of problems she did have an amazing voice although she led the drug lifestyle a lot of celebrities do but they're just not in the public eye.

Probably why more and more people are obsessed with becoming famous, then they can get away with all the naughty things they want to do.

While I wouldn't necessarily condone mocking her death, I won't show sympathy for a waste of space.
