Yeah that's what's happening and I figured it was bad!

Any suggestions on a good fork to go for? Based on GT avalanche 3 frame etc!

Fraid not. It's gonna be budget forks that I have no experience of. Perhaps a downgrade of rotor size would be a better bet? You don't need anything powerful in Norwich anyway.

No problems loading for me on Virgin Cable.

My first ride since the meet, could tell as well, too much buffet and beer on holiday! :o

Swapped my tyres over, instantly gained confidence back again using the Fat Albert front tyre. Think it's there to stay! Might get a 2011 tyre on as its just a Snakeskin Performance at the moment, it loses speed quickly when you come off the pedals, maybe the EVO version will be better.

I put the Nobby Nic Evo that was on the front on the back for some better mud/dirt clearing as the Ralph could clog a bit and felt like struggled for grip at times.

I noticed that the tread on the Ralph had started to cut up slightly in one place, I guess from locking the rear brake on some braking bumps at Cannock Chase.

It's probably not the pads. My Elixir's don't squeel at all. Put some copper grease behind the pads, make sure the pistons are clean, check alignment, make sure they are bled properly, check the rotors/pads are clean..... Elixir's are well known to make a racket.

Only on the 160mm discs!

I do ride out of Norwich and while places like Thetford are pretty tame i do intend to expand my horizons and travel a bit to try some better places!

Does anyone bother with fork lube? I seen some advertised in a magazine but never seen any of it around. Is it worth using it? Or is there something better to do/use?

You can use other lubes but I wouldn't trust it with the fork seals. Fork lube is brilliant stuff. Spray a bit on before every ride and you will feel the difference. I have used Fork Juice and Brunox Deo, both are very good.

I use Fork Juice too.

It's as essential as oiling your chain IMO. Some fork seals are poor, so keeping the uppers clean saves worn stanchions and keeps the forks running smooth. Alternatively you can use chain oil, but the silicon spray works better.

A friend took me a wee 10 mile or so loop up in Stirling today, up behind the uni. Was a good day to break the SX Trail in, I didn't eat enough though and ended up loosing all my energy.

My motorbike had an MOT advisory on the front forks today because of leaky seals. One of the stanchions has had a stone chip and has taken a chunk out of the seal so is losing oil. So its definitely worth looking after your shocks even on a MTB! :)

would you use the spray to do the rear air shock too like the fox rp2?

You came to a computer dork forum, and the first post you ask about speccing you a bike?

How odd.

Actually, not really. I had a better chance of getting a reply from this thread, so I took my chances. I googled around a lot, and came to the conclusion, that due to manufacturers not wanting to be liable for broken frames, and have an endless amount of people trying to sue them, they just don't include the information in the specifications.
My reasoning for choosing this thread was simple its size. Its the longest most active (Thats what She Said!) thread on the subject I found. Hence I figured someone would reply.

Besides - I'll prob become an active poster. I'm head of software development at the company I work for, so I am indeed a computer dork! :D

Supercow suitably owned there I think. :D

Great way to welcome a new member Supercow. Calling everyone a computer dork.
You seem to forget you are also a member here

Anyway, enough of that.
Welcome to the forums mrotacon, may your time here be eye opening. :D

Yip. I use it on my RP23. I tried it on the CCDB but it seems a bit pointless. :p

Went up to Fochabers and rode the Freeride trail (boardwalk about 7foot high at the highest point), and a few small jumps. Then headed over to the other side of town and did The mast blast a couple of times.

The T2 rocked! It was like being in France again, almost. :p

The only pic I got from the mornings biking:
