You mean like there is in bc2?

Yeah, well I think if you took them off didn't it mark the server as "hardcore"? Needs to be done without adding that flag.

Either way, if you CAN remove HP regen and 3D spotting, I honestly can't see why people moan about it. If you don't like either of those aspects, join a server which doesn't have them, there's no point moaning about them if the option to remove them is there.

If it was something that was fixed into the game, that yes this is 100% on all the time and you can never turn it off, it's understandable.

it marks it as grey (but not the orange official hardcore), and you can see exactly what options are on/off if you look at the server info on the list.

So basically what you're saying is you want to be able to change the options but you don't want to have to put up with reduced traffic from people not wanting to play on your custom config and instead want to trick them onto the server in the hopes they won't just leave?

yopu can but people won't join your server as they don't want those options which is what these people are complaining about.

Exactly, these are "flags" can be easily searched for in the browser if DICE allowed and have little icons to indicate if they're on or off in each instance, so they wouldn't actually need to be flags as such, they could show the server as a standard 1, just with these 2 options on or off. The same as if a server had a password or not. Understand what i'm trying to say? I suck at explaining stuff, but hopefully you get the jist.

Hardcore marked servers can be with it's own set of specific rules, whilst 3D spotting and HP regen would still be allowed on them too if server owners wished, just off by default.

Its probably the spec check ? Do you have a quad core. I think FEAR had that. You couldnt take part otherwise

They dont want people moaning about their 486 dx-66 instead of enjoying the game especially when in 3 months more people will have a higher spec

Sandy at 4.6, 8gbs of ram and 5870, most people get the same thing from what I've seen on forums, not all veterans will make it in.

Been playing for a bit tonight, Has potential

Lots of stuttering of enemies almost like rubber banding when enemies jump over uneven surfaces such as rocks etc, they will skip forward or shift quickly, almost like the animation isnt there

Overall I like :)

I personally feel that when I have freedom to move about in FPS, I tend to play and score better than when my movements is restricted as in the case of bc2;)

Whats the recommended spec for this game, if its been announced?

the Alpha was

RECOMMENDED PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

OS: Windows 7 or Vista (SP1)
Installed: Origin
CPU:Quadcore @ 2.0 GHz or faster
RAM: 4GB or more
Hard Drive: 7.25GB free
Video: 512 MB or greater DirectX 10 or 11
compatible card with latest drivers (AMD 11.5 or later, nVidia 275.33 or later)
Sound: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card
Internet: broadband connection

Likewise, I disliked hardcore mode in BC2, but hated 3d spotting even more. The spotting they had BF2 where it showed enemys only on the mini map was perfect. The video Raven showed is a good illustration of why it is bad. Anyone can shoot across the map pointing at triangles, after randomly pressing Q in the general direction of the enemy, its just stuipid.

It maybe a good video buts that 2+2=5, ;)

The issue with 3d spotting and "wall hacks" imo seems to come down to vehicles being able to spam that area. Ive been behind large rocks before and the lav spammed the crap out of that area, some damage seems to soak through to you and before i knew it i was dead.

Maybe and i see your point, however i would say thats a whole diffrent ball game vs what raven has been going on about.

You would expect a round off a lav to have splash damage effect much like you describe, but what raven is going on about is the pin point shot across the map through a house whilst your in a bush which does happen on BC2, but thats 2+2=5 when it comes to BF3.

Yeah i know what hes talking about, but thats really the only thing vaguely resembling it that ive encountered. :)
