Looking after a cat. He went out last night but ain't back. I need to go out

Happened to my cat once. The neighbour consciously locked him in their shed and left him in there with all the poisonous chemicals. When we found him he was almost dead. Lucky the vet managed to save him. He stays out all night all the time though so I wouldn't start worrying till he's been gone for a whole day.
Why did your neighbour do that?

Gutted, I always feel sorry for the owners when I see a cat lying in the road...I do not like cats but as a dog owner it must be very upsetting!

Its happened so many times over the years that as upsetting as it is, it doesn't effect me much. It was one of our boys (we had 5 cats before we lost him) and he was my girlfriends baby and it literally ripped in half when i told her, never have i seen her so upset and thats what upset me most really.
Who ever hit him didn't stop as a local bobby (station is just over the road) brought him over not long after it happened :(

Mine sometimes wanders off for a couple of days.... does it once or twice a year...

Its always back though sooner or later... wanting to be fed.

Cats.

Ours got knocked down last year, must've been overnight as we found him outside our house in the morning. Whoever had hit him, or someone else, had moved him to the pavement, presumably so he wouldn't get hit again. In the middle of the night you're not going to go knocking on doors to find out whose it is. I appreciated them doing that (even though they'd killed my cat ).

Is your neighbours name Mr Schrodinger?

Pah I can do one better than that, years ago our neighbour must have saw our cat squashed on the road so thoughtfully decided to pick it up and leave it on the door step at the crack of dawn when he left for work.

Nearly puked my ******* guts out leaving for work that morning.

RIP Pat the cat

It's probably dead.

Sorry, if anyone thought that my statement was a bit harsh. I am a realist and the first thought that came into my head were 'cat has not come home = dead cat' so that was why i posted it (and i thought the the harshness would get a few lols:D).

I do really like cats and would have one myself but my GF is allergic to them so i hope the OP's cat returned safe and well.

You love cats ... we get it, but completely over the top response, no?
Not everyone likes/respects animals I get it, but when someone is concerned about the welfare of their pet and asks advise and gets this reply........

It's probably dead.

So you don't think that, that was an unnecessary comment then Eriedor? Also I wasn't alone in taking offense to that post ;).

I apologise for my brash comment then King666, as I thought you were just trying to be unnecessarily nasty to the op.

When you say looking after a cat - did you bring it over your place or are you looking after it at someone elses place?

If you brought it around your place and let it out....you probably wont ever see it again.

If your car sitting for the cat at your house and not your friends it's probably went back home, or to try and find it.
