I looked at IS200s (saloons) before I bought the 330d (infact could have been before buying the LCR!), and I was left utterly underwhelmed by the interior, the whole feel was a bit "odd", and the tacky £20 chronometer watch-like dials made me feel like I was looking at an Argos catalog.
The car was smooth though, and it did feel quite involving to drive (although as you say, not quite as composed as the e46), certainly a decent purchase for under £4,000 either way, even better if you don't find the interior to be "iffy"
Enjoy it anyway, got to be better than an ageing Accord.
