Some mega leg pumping later and I manage one of my evening routes faster than I have gone before, my secret, 2L of Irn Bru and a hard day at work.

This is also using fatter tyres and stopping to adjust my saddle for stump jump and do a steep descent which I fell off on in the past and had the "fear" of.

Nearly ran someones stupid dog over, but thats a rant for another day ;)

Back in the good ol days of DH circa 1979

Copied from another forum:

In 1979 a California TV crew filmed an unusual race their producer had heard about, a downhill run on old balloon-tire bikes. This is the video, first shown across the US in 1979 but generally unavailable ever since. It turned out, in hindsight, to be the most awesomely predictive video statement imaginable. It is the very first video shot anywhere in the world about the subject that would some day be called "mountain biking." This video represents the first time the public ever heard about the sport of downhill racing and these are the first broadcast images of mountain bikes. Look how far it has come.

The fastest rider of the lot is a hippie named Gary Fisher. In answer to a question from the TV crew he opines that this sport will go a long way. His wildest dreams would not have been sufficient.

Just bought a few basic stuff from crc.
Got a £10 voucher I won't use since you will need to spend £75 to qualify if someone else wants it here it is. First come first serve.

Excellent days riding at Laggan yesterday. Here are a few snaps my mate took with his new Cannon camera:

Yeah, the Dart is very much an entry level fork.
The Recon Silver would be a noticable upgrade, and wont break the bank.

EDIT: Just noticed the Reba's have already been suggested and are within your budget. Good choice for XC

Cheers! Was no problem to be honest :) Maybe not as fast as on a full sus but still lots of fun. Managed it all, despite being warned about "The Devils Chessboard" by the guys at Base Camp Bikes. The the 8th photo down

We did (in order)

Lower Red + Bike Park
Upper Black full Run + Bike Park
Full Red + Bike Park

Great facilities on site, and lots of people out riding (although we were the only guys on the black). 25 degrees sunshine as well!

I've got a £10 off voucher for CRC when you spend £75. It runs out in 2 weeks and I'm not planning on buying anything in that time so who wants to give me an internet cookie for it?
