I concur wholeheartedly.
The first film is very, very good. It's Spielberg at his best, so of course it's brilliant. The second and third are rubbish. The book of the second was pretty good, but the film was just rubbish by comparison.
Of course, the best bit of the whole franchise is the first book, which is excellent sci-fi. John Hammond is so much more deluded in the book - it's quite sinister in its own way.
IIRC he falls victim to those same little dinosaurs that kill one of the hunters who wanders off for a pee in JP2?!?
Yep. As I recall, the entire park has gone utterly to hell in a handbasket and he's sat in some little cabin somewhere thinking about how well the park could work. I think he slips down a slope and breaks his leg and they come and eat him.

End titles were quite entertaining
Agree with gothic - perhaps a series may be a better direction to go in.
My opinion is.....They should have kept this to one film! The first one is amazing, at the time it was like nothing we had seen before but for me.....when that mobile phone started to ring inside the dinosaur I cringed.
They already went stupid on the films so this could maybe be a chance for them to fix mistakes and make another classic, cant hurt to try?
