I could run it @ 60fps without any problem, but still had a bit of a performance issue?

I didn't upgrade my PC yet. Ordering the parts on friday. I could run it quite comfortably, but my temperatures went through the roof.

Phenom 955
4GB ram
Radeon 5770.

Nothing special.

I don't know how anyone can compare this to BFBC2. It feels completely different, got a sexy clip of one of the vehicles pushing fire around the trains as we all move up. The sound is near perfect and the recoil seems fairly realistic!

Same Mcom Sound
Same Triangles n 3D spotting

Completely Different?

I feel it's the sound that's giving some people the impression it's so different, and yes we have battlelog

Just managed a quick game, As it's alpha I will reserve judgement but I really do like what I am seeing so far, 7 kills to 1 death, don't know why people are moaning about it being too difficult! :P Hopefully there will be 'copters in the beta!.

To me this really does feel like a worthy successor to BF2, it has the right feeling. As a heavy player of BF2 I didn't really bother much with BFBC2 when it came out, this feels quite a bit better.

To me.

BF2 = XP

BFBC2 = Vista

BF3 = Windows 7

Also the sound of an RPG flying over your head in the tunnel = sex, that is all.

This.

Tbh I am enjoying this game more than bc2 multiplayer. Part of the reason is ability to move sideways while running hence flexibility plus this game seems to have more life and fluidity to it compared to BC2:cool:

Right just come off my first game, it has a different feel compared to BC2........... but...........PRONE IS AWESOME:D as an die hard BF2 fan, this simple feature has made me happy so far

Same Mcom Sound
Same Triangles n 3D spotting
100% Health regen on players and vehicles
social key
Rush

Fixed

Feels like BC3 than a sequel to BF2 but let's reserve judgment for the beta.

And yeah I got no reason to hate, I love battlefield.

Expect a report this Sunday.

If you are in alpha then check the forums out, a lot of alpha players are not happy bunnies.

The thing I find with this game or any BF/C game is that they are very tactile and require strategy in order to take down enemy. If I just run in the open then I would only be making progress in the 'death' department.

As for 3D spotting, I am 50/50

It is good in a sense as it allows the whole team to get an idea where enemies may well be based after having pressed Q.

Without 3D spotting, the whole teams on both sides would need to come up with further strategies in order to score or complete objectives. In this regard gameplay will be much deeper and more involving.

However without 3D spotting it may well be that the whole gameplay slows down further as without the knowledge of whereabouts of the opposing team members, no one would be willing to go out in the open at daring rate. This may also encourage more camping.

This is what I think anyway.

Honestly how do people like prone? :confused:, unless they are the ones who are just camping in some spot getting lots of easy kills (yes I joined the club and did this as well, but it is just so boring, something, which only COD players do).

I found prone to be excellent in tricky situations. For example taking heavy fire near the MCOM, wack prone and move to a safer location.

Prone is an important part of combat. When you come under fire lie the **** down and get to cover.

Did you ever play conquest in BF2? I don't recall teams playing like cowards and hiding in the bush. Massive thread on alpha forums about it and some good points made for wanting this noob feature out of BF3, just a tiny selection below.

It should be removed and replaced with a simple minimap 2d spotting. It shouldn't follow your movement but only shows your position at the moment of the spotting action.

This HAS to go, it is horrible.. just absolutely disgustingly fail.

It completely ruins any element of stealth in the game, it promotes people to camp and search for the red triangles to appear.

If you (as you normally do) ignore the playerbase and do not remove it, I will have to play hardcore; if you do not release hardcore, I'd rather go for the generic zombified MW3.

Make it happen.
I agree, too often I find myself spraying or getting sprayed at through bushes or the such due to people just aiming at the giant orange triangle.
The spot button should stay, however it should only display the enemies location at the moment in time on the mini-map, rather than following them around above their head.

Horrible, horrible thing.

You see nothing but trees, then hit Q, then the map becomes a Xmas tree. Something is needed to be able to see ****, but 3D spotting is NOT the way to go

I just played for a few minutes, and I agree. 3D spotting MUST GO.

I got my kills just by shooting at a red triangle above somebody that I couldn't even see.

yeah but the maps in bf were as plain as a Bulgarian pin up and you could easily see everyone without issue.

The ability to go prone is hugely important in any sort of strategic shooter, not for camping but to present your enemy with the smallest possible target and giving you a more stable firing platform.
Its omission from BC2 was hugely annoying and even though it often opens up bunny hopping its advantages far outweigh any negatives.
