Best gaming mouse?

Everyone reccomends the MX518, it's a very good mouse but it's not the best. One of its problems is that is has path correction, which is not a good thing if you play high end FPS. I would say the Steelseries XAI is the best currently.

Has whatnow?

First I've heard about anything like that, and I do spend a fair ammount of time playing TF2, though hardly at any expert level.

I have an MX518, a Zowie EC2 and a Kone+ and they are all awesome in their own way.

Kone+ has by far the most features though.

Yeh but so many top gamers use mice with prediction, so it's generally considered a non-issue.

I think the original Intellimouse doesn't have it either... but that's about it.

Mouse prediction (angle snapping, drift control) is a type of path correction in mouse sensors that assists you in drawing horizontal or vertical lines (useful for graphical applications). If your mouse has prediction, the sensor will predict when you attempt to draw a straight line and correct any movement that drifts away from that line. This is not an accurate representation of your movement, so most people prefer to play without prediction.

Good example here:

Do you really think a human is capable of drawing a perfect straight line with a mouse? No, you can only draw one with path correction. Some games require almost pixel perfect accuracy, and if the mouse is not 100% accurate to your hand movement, it's not good.

If you want to see it yourself open paint and try to draw a straight line with MX518.

I've had a CM Storm Spawn for a month or two now and it has been great. The shape might not suit a lot of folk but it works for me even though I don't use the 'claw' style that it has apparently been designed for.

The thing is that most people are still using Deathadders and MX518s for several years now, they are both tried and tested and absolutely great mice and dont need replacing until they go bust like mine has. So they are going to be very well recommended by all the people that use them.

But there actually are a lot of better gaming mice out now with plenty of alternatives, and for not too high a price compared to what they used to cost a few years ago.

I have a Razer Lachesis, similar to a Deathadder but with a few more buttons.
I've never had a problem with buttons sticking on razer mice.

Razer mice never seem to feel right in my hand, tried copperhead and death adder. Always seem a bit over priced for what they are as well imo. Have used a G5 for a few years now and like it a lot.

If you ask me, obviously the most important facet for a mouse to "get right" is comfort.

So that makes the logitech g500 the best as its the most comfortable gaming mouse ive used.
