Anyway to turn off unused HDD?

I've got everything other than games on my SSD so unless I'm playing a game on the HDD it's being unused so I was wondering if there was a way to turn off or put it to sleep so to speak until I need to use it other than unplugging the drive from the sata connection?

Windows' built in power options will allow you to set unused drives to spin down after a period of inactivity.
