game runs fine but motion blur is just far far too high especialy when runnign and aiming at the same time.

i do play with a sensitivity where 2.3cm is a 360 turn i nbc2 so maybe it just doesn't like high sens mouse settings :(

maybe somthing to look at, give it a go and see if thats it,

but how else do you signal to the rest of your team?

I can think a couple of things.

- Rather than spot people, spot a general location on the map/3d in game with a marker, "enemies at this position". Cooldown on use. This could also have markers such as "Suppress here".

- A compass bearing, or when you spot someone it will say "enemies at 1o'clock and a mini clock pops up with the position to face, like ARMA. (See here at 42 seconds, newer version of the game actually say out loud what direction and the clock turns in relation to where you are.

Man thats some high sensitivity

PS where did you upload that image its downloading as slow as hell for me

main problem for me is the motion blur.

this isn't me spinning the mouse wildly or spinning round this is just moving the aim one inch to the side at my normal aiming pace.

makes the game unplayable as you can't see anything

First back up this file then...

Go to Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial open initfs_Win32 in notepad++ or notepad and find all lines containing

WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 1 and change to 0

This should turn it off, I'm not sure, there are other options there too if you know what they are/do.

worth risking the pb ban? (assumign this has pb running)

Uhhm I don't think it can ban for modifying the config relating to graphics quality, I've been using it like many others for ages. It would've banned me instantly for modified files otherwise.
Let me know how it goes. HBAO is a big performance hog too IIRC. and FxaaEnable if you don't want AA for a massivho boost.

I need these off for a lowly 4870x2.

If people really feel that strongly about it I can't understand why they keep going on about it. Buy the game, don't buy the game - I care very little. Just stop going on about it lol. It's a topic that has received enough attention. Sure, discuss how it might be improved perhaps but lets stop the total troll "OMG WALLHACKS" type of comments shall we?

People who feel strongly about it are not going to shut up about it, obviously they are going to make a fuss about a feature that they do not want to see in a game series they enjoy above any other. After all who wants to see a series they love go down the drain?

If you can't handle reading the comments then you should probably stop reading the thread, as it will not stop, and replying to it the way you do is certainly pointless and no doubt making you angrier.

As to how spotting could be improved, well if removing it would be good, or by being purely on the map. There is no other way for it to improve.

The only way to make everyone happy is to add more filter options to the browser allowing you to filter spotting servers. Now I have said it before so maybe you should reply to me telling me to shut up, but it is the best way to make everyone happy. Then those who don't want spotting will turn it off on their servers and everyone will be able to find and join them much the same way as filtering hardcore servers out.
