Is it me or are most peopel on this alpha retarded, I armed an mcom and killed 6 people trying to defuse it before i was killed and then before i respawned they had disarmed it and my team were all at the other side of the map.

well that explains everything.

you're deaf, as the Q key does actually yell what it's saying as well as adding it to the minimap and on screen hud.

Please go read the mass of threads requesting the commo-rose over the noob social key, you might learn something. Yes I suppose one would be biased when playing BC2 for the past year, really you have no idea.

On BC2 Raven when you press q, whatever your request is, your player says they either need some ammo or they need a medic over here, saying thanks or sorry in a war shooter is stupid, once i've got what i want, i'll get straight back into the 'war'.

Raven, really, you can see the vehicle damage and anyone with common sense will know when to bail out.

You don't hear them say it as you're a mute in game apparently, and you have to find and point at the medic or support to request it, in the middle of a war zone that's stupid. As for bailing in BF2 it is used to tell people to bail out to cap flags and not everyone is paying attention when they are on a mounted gun on a car or in a chopper. You don't like to thank your team mates in game for reviving you, giving you supplies, picking you up, saying sorry for an accidental team kill, not much of a teamplayer are you, is it all lonewolves in BC2? is that it.

this isn't true and your character does yell when you Q spot.

"hey, ammo, I need ammo" is the American one for when you request ammo.

or "hey pick me up i'm tired of hoofing it" for pick up

why do you feel the need to lie?

People who feel strongly about it are not going to shut up about it, obviously they are going to make a fuss about a feature that they do not want to see in a game series they enjoy above any other. After all who wants to see a series they love go down the drain?

Totally agree and I welcome a debate but I doubt the game will go down the drain just because it has spotting in it?

If you can't handle reading the comments then you should probably stop reading the thread, as it will not stop, and replying to it the way you do is certainly pointless and no doubt making you angrier.

Replying to it in the way I do? I'm trying to reply in a civil, thoughtful and intelligent manner and would hope everyone would do the same and what has given you the impression I'm angry over this? Should I simply post OMG WALLHACKS in caps instead as a one liner like some people have done?

As to how spotting could be improved, well if removing it would be good, or by being purely on the map. There is no other way for it to improve.

Valid points but perhaps a compromise of last known position would work well?

The only way to make everyone happy is to add more filter options to the browser allowing you to filter spotting servers. Now I have said it before so maybe you should reply to me telling me to shut up, but it is the best way to make everyone happy. Then those who don't want spotting will turn it off on their servers and everyone will be able to find and join them much the same way as filtering hardcore servers out.

I don't remember telling anyone to shut up, perhaps I've requested a better dialog than the examples above - the opposite infact is more truthful and state I enjoy a good discussion. Everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them. You're probably right about the filtering with regard to hardcore servers turning this feature off just like in BC2. We can have a chat next time you come on mumble and play BC2 with us :D

Oh and Raven, thanks for the animated gif - it's the level of reply I'm coming to expect.

When I played many moons a go, there was no voice call when you requested something, yes the other players heard the auto voice but I never experienced what you are saying happens in BC2. Let me get this straight, in BC2 when I Q a medic I can hear my character shout I need a medic or whatever they scream?

Am I the only person that prefers to have the right mouse button held down?

Im with you on this, i much prefer to hold the rmb down as opposed to clicking it.
On another note, anyone else see this looking through the alpha files ( Import old-school cfg files for backwards compatibility )
Makes you wonder how much old school stuff there bringing over to bf3

Yes thats what happens, but you might have missed it as a lot of people ignored your requests

must say that it has grown on me, at first i was a bit sceptical but it quickly becomes second nature

I wondered why you'd jumped out. We'd pretty much bossed that server anyway! Was quite enjoying the support class there.
