Only good tip is spend as much time as possible with it in the first few months, make your self their friend as well as their food giver. With my mums kitten Tim mum was working from home when she got him so spent most days with him when he was small so now has a healthy balance between cat out side life and hanging out with the people at home :) (plus he likes me as we used to stay up all night when he had too much energy at 10 weeks old).

But yeah play with them and always have cat time to make sure they grow up into nice sociable cats

Jesus no.

Wet food is ESSENTIAL for cats. Dry can be fine but ideally you want at least 50% of your cats food to be wet.

Dry food is often packed with rice and other carb based fillers to bulk it up. Cats cannot process carbs as they are obligate carnivores. You are feeding them maybe 50% usefull food, the rest is getting dumped out the other end because the cat cant process it.

Also cats are not natural drinkers like dogs. They rely heavily on wet food for their water intake. Not enough water intake can and does lead to urinary problems.

Most dry food is just crap covered in something that the cats like the taste of. Just because they eat it doesn't mean its any good for them. Children would live exclusively on chocolate if that was the case!

Burgess supacat contains Maize, Wheat and Rice and more importantly lists Maize as its first ingredient! None of those three can be processed by your cats gut!

Ingredients have to be listed in the order of quantity. That means there is more Maize in your supacat than there is chicken!

Please do some research before you go giving advice.

Get a catflap and don't simply feed it dry food.

Would you like to be fed only biscuits and locked in a cell?

get it chipped, balls chopped and vaccinated.

Would recommend cat insurance just incase, vets aint cheap.

That has to be one of the cutes little kittens I have ever seen jcb33!!!!

I am also so jealous of you kitty owners!!! I am currently in the process of looking to buy a new place and the first thing i want to do is get a cat/kitten. The only thing is though is that I hear the RSPCA won't let you have kittens if you work all day during the week? Is this true? I am probably going to do fostering with the RSPCA first I think though.

If you are only having 1 then they like you to be around more becuase the cat needs something to do. If you are getting 2 its less of an issue. Also try Cats Protection.

Just got home with Florence. She's came out of the carry case almost straight away, had a look around then got stuck into the food we put out for her. Hopefully thats a good sign. :)

Pics coming in a bit.

Absolutely terrible advice  I explained why earlier in the thread - I suggest you go read it, and Todge's reply on this page. Feed your poor cats some proper food!
