Your Gaming Surface?

It's working just perfectly!

Really pleased with the mouse and the mouse mat!

Edit : My mouse only arrived today - the mouse itself was up to date on firmware, but the base needed a firmware update. All works a charm :-)

ZOMG the BB's are back in stock

Will be ordering a couple this time no more waiting months to get another.

(Oh only reason i need a new one is because my missus likes to think it's some kind of super absorbent drinks spilling sponge) it took 7 trips though a washing machine before it faded probably due to me using biological detergent on it , but now i cut it up and it makes a great mat to stop pressure marks from the clamps on my DFGT and the other section i use to put my pc components on when re-building etc etc.

Think we will ever get any offers on bulk buy of these :)

those look awesome!

I have a mousemat from OCuk (3yr old) that I thought was huge. I used to use a very nice Sun microsystem mousemat that was perfect material but way too small. I saw a mate with a mousemat from OcUK that was exactly the same (minus the Sun logo and a little thicker) so I went for it. It came in 3 sizes so I bought the biggest... didn't look at the dimensions - mistake! This thing is huge (over 4x the size of the sun mousemat), so my keyboard is always a little tilted. These huge mousemats look like the perfect answer (and cheap too!). Now half of my carbon desk can be covered up :-)

I see people with these expensive mouse pads and laugh. No mouse pad I have ever seen is better than my one I bought in the 90's. Why? Because it has a Lenticular 3D picture of Batman on it. The sheer awesomeness of it enables me to get pixel perfect headshots every time.

My BB arrived. It's pretty big, but perfect for me as I use a lot of space for my mouse. What are people doing to get the edges to sit flat? Putting some books on top to flatten it out after unrolling?

I've had mine for about 6 weeks now and it's taken that long to go flat under it's own weight, if you don't want to wait that long, roll it the opposite way in the tube for a few hours, or put a towel over it and iron it :)

But for now, books or something on the edges will serve the purpose :)

Pow my mice n pad, Haters guna hate.

Puretrak Stealth here, imported from the [borat]US and A[/borat].

It comes in a nice sturdy tin tube, has fabric not used by other pad manufacturers, is machine washable, won't fray and is stain proof. The minimalist logo is woven into the fabric so you don't feel it like say the logo on steelseries qck pads. Regarded by most as the best pad in the world, not just for those reasons but because of it's smoothness and precision. I've already brought it to the attention of OcUK but they still don't stock it for some reason. Maybe it's the shipping costs from the states. Cost me $34 (£20) direct from puretrak. Check this video for the liquid spill test he does.

Minimalist logo? It's big, bright white and an ugly logo at that!

BoogieBug XL has the best logo placement and colour choice IMO.

True, not so minimalist I suppose, but, it's not a painted on logo as such so mouse tracking is undisturbed. If you really care about looks over precision and quality, then yea, go for the boogie bug.

I use 2 of Logitech's top performance laser mice for gaming and Photo editing. If I cared about looks over performance I'd have gotten stuff with flashing lights and a cool name like f4tal1ty or something equally ridiculous :p

There are no tracking or precision issues with the boogiebug and while you bung the one above in the washing machine and wait for the cycle to end, I just wipe my boogiebug with a damp microfibre towel maybe with a dab of soap applied and BLAMMO! It's clean.

Not saying the other products are bad....just for the cost you get a massive (literally) product in terms of value and performance.

Did you even check out the video? Liquid doesn't even soak into the stealth, same goes for the big brother the 'Talent'. I'm sure the boogiebug is nice and big and does the job fine, but whenever best gaming mousepads are mentioned, names like steelseries, razer, everglide and puretrak are always mentioned. Boogiebug is good value for money but not the best quality. The Puretrak is aimed at gamers who want extra precision if they're serious gamers.

I've had steelseries before and actually own a Razer Destructor pad which I used for a year before re-purchasing a BoogieBug again and don't see any loss in precision at all. I even owned a Razer Mamba mouse in between that period and saw no difference between "gaming" surfaces.

I think these terms, gaming, precision, control and whatnot are thrown around far too much when it comes to surfaces over such a small difference that it's not worth arguing about.

I have not sold the Destructor yet because it will get some use as the BoogieBug ages over the years and I decide what to get next.

So to reply to your post, no, I didn't just buy a BoogieBug because it was cheap and does the job. I own a mat that cost 3 times as much and prefer the BoogieBug because it does the same job but gives more comfort and a bigger surface area.

Drink spillages are not a problem. I imagine for people with hands that knock stuff over a lot the Puretrak will be a godsend though! erratic-UberMicro is a strange condition :p

Edit*

The reason why the other brands get mentioned so much is because outside of OcUK, the BoogieBug is only sold at maybe 1 or 2 other online stores last time I looked, and only in the UK too.

I had the razer exactmat and got the vespula when it started to wear out on the speed side.
had the exactmat without the wrist rest, vespula with, something that takes a while to get used to, but I wouldnt do without it now.
Vespula is a bit smaller than the exactmat.

Yeah well, think what you will man, but with all due respect, I don't think you really have a much of a clue but we'll leave it at that ;)
