How much debt do you have?

I am 46 and never used a credit card!! I hate being in debt. Biggest debt i had was my mortgage which i finished several years ago. As i said above, we have a 10k loan for work done on the bungalow which is payable over 5 years which we hope to pay off sooner than that.

Cash withdrawals ? Lol! Brave man

Still bet you have been laid more than I have:p

Used to buy rounds of drinks with it as well. God I was popular lol.

I do have some great memories but I am paying for it now. But then I did have a wild 17-22. without loans and such. It never would have happened.

I accept its my fault. Nobody forced me to spend the money. And I know in 2 years time I will think WOW!!

And yes I probably have laid more than you :p I think I was up to 40 ish by the time I hit 19. My best mate Simon lost his cherry
At 20 and I remember us having a party as I hit 50 as well lol.

Haha

I pulled lost of women without even buying them drinks, crazy I know but it works, I went to out on a Saturday to enjoy myself with the money I earned and enjoyed it, did you have some underline emotions or feelings that meant you had to be the king of the club?

No wonder you got into a rut of throwing money about you never had if you had that many women at that age.

About £13k student, will rise to 19K-20K or so before I finish, but I have some of that in a savings account so not sure on how much actually.

Unless you count mobile phone contract, no other debt.

£1200 cc
~ £400 arrears on gas/electricity bill

It stresses me out quite a bit. But when I talked to a guy at my bank about my 'debt' he was of the opinion that I ought not to worry too much as I didn't owe much in the grand scheme of things. He even told me to take my money out of my current account to prevent the CC taking the money automatically every month - the utilities arrears were more important - and wouldn't organise a reduced payment arrangement for the CC until the utilities were cleared/managed. I was quite taken aback tbh.

Not much at all, never been concerned about debt, my roof is my own this year and what other debt I have is a fraction of my salary.

I've never lost sight of the possibility of my own career taking a nosedive - my brother has a 1/2 million mortgage, that'd chill my blood.

If you can meet your commitments on a part time supermarket job life's easy.

I'm pretty bad with money but slowly getting on track.

Ignoring my student loan, my current debt is:

£7000 professional studies loan
£3000 car loan

Pay off around 700 a month.

Should be almost clear of it in a years time.

Brother: £20.

Once i finish University (4 years time): give or take, est£20-£25k?

I guess i might go onto a Masters/PhD after that, but i guess i have 4 years to decide :)

No debt now but was right up the pan when I got divorced 5 years ago.. In total it cost me just over 25k to get divorced and then nearly 10k in costs to be able to see my daughter.
Although debt free I don't have anywhere near the money I wanted to have when coming out the forces so things are going to get a bit tight in a few months...

About 27,000 Great British Pounds worth of unfortunate debt... or at least I will have, by the time I leave university.

Let's be honest. How long is it going to pay that off? I'll still owe it at my own funeral.

I thought mens insurance was supposed to be going down and womens insurance was going up? Neil were you being a woman to get cheaper car insurance???

Nope, i'm not a woman :p

It's gone up a lot, even on my mum's insurance it's shot up and she's in mid-late 50's . Insurance should not go up for good drivers

None.

Only had a short stint at uni and finished repaying loan last month so £50 or so better of every month now!

Own car, got another 5 years left atleast before need a new one I reckon.

just about to buy a house which while is debt will be cheaper than rent.

25 btw and winning.

I've been in a huge financial hole for pretty much 3 years now, owed the tax man 6k behind in mortgage, rates, co ownership, finance deals the lot. At the worst it was about 15k but it was more the fact that I wasn't earning enough to cover monthly bills (self employed) rather than silly spending.

Looking at my finances now though I'm not actually in that terrible a situation anymore, I owe small amounts to various people but nothing major. Sitting at around 4k now, however my credit rating will be appalling so I'll have to lie low for a few years before I can claw my way back. I've tried not to think about how much I owe but I think I've genuinely surprised myself with how little there is left to go :)

You never know if I get this new job I've applied for I might even be able to have some savings!
