The cpu and low memory would slow it more. If the card is half a gig it might start to page textures to the disk drive so possible single figure fps even on low.

The beta will be low settings only I presume

Spotting isn't anything new, it's the fact that the weapon appears to overpowered. It happened in BFBC2 with scoped LMGs until they got balanced.

we know you hate 3d spotting, i think you need to let it go! well on here at least.

You have got to accept its going to be in the game in some form, just like the lack of commander. You took part in two massive threads in the alpha about it, almost posting more about it than the kills you made in the alpha.

If DICE do not remove it as you would like then you need to vote with your feet, if DICE work out i new version give it a go, until the beta or final game lets drop it as the record has been heard many times by everyone.

Dice know from the feedback on the alpha forums what the majority of players think so hopefully it will be severely toned down, either way I'm sure there will be a server option to turn it on.;)

just a quick note on the video posted above,

not sure it really comes over but its speeded up, he uses almost half a clip per kill so around 15-16 bullets, if not the full clip so not that OP,

He kills around 13 people with only 3-4 being someone he could not see for the 3d spot fans, so yet again not like he banks on the spot to get the kill.

DICE have heard from the sir moan-a lot section of the players & the sheep jumping on the its cool to hate crowd.

I for one dont mind either way, i change my play style to fit the combat, the people i'm paying with or against, it comes down to a very simple thing, if its not what you want then vote with your feet.

In what way?

The utter lack of any recoil or much bullet spread on assault rifles felt identical to MOH, almost seems like they simply ported over the recoil system for moh and plonked it into bf3.

In what way:

One word : AUDIO

The graphics are amazing, even considering it was an alpha.

The movement feels fluid yet connected to the environment.

The weapon's look and feel amazing, and having shot an ak47, m4, sig 550, colt 1911 and thompson, I think the recoil is pretty spot on. Guns don't actually kick THAT much in full auto, you can hold them pretty steady, but the bullet spread due to the vibrations in the barrel obviously makes it more accurate to fire in short bursts, just like in the game.

I like how bullet damage is judged on the size of the bullet, rather than the gun it is being fired from (obviously apart from snipers but this is being worked on)

I think the battlelog system, also considering its alpha, is very nice. Seemed stable and quite a quick way to get into a game.

The game just felt tight, not floaty or disconnected liked I sometimes felt with BC2, and its going to great to have such tight gunplay on a 64 player map with vehicles thrown in, cant wait :D

Yeah them triangles in the bush are easy meat.

Whats that, you don't like the spotting system - shock horror. If I were you i'd leave it another couple of pages at least before mentioning it again, that way it at least looks like you've forgotten about it for a couple of hours.

Good for you, other players have an interest in seeing BF is as good as it can be and that's why gaming communities give Dice their feedback on gameplay issues like balance and features, you wish to play a broken game that's good for you, don't expect others to roll over and just accept it.

The point he is making is you've already said your piece and made it clear how you feel, so now move onto something else.

as this man said.

no fun listening to a stuck record, no one is saying 3d spotting is great, just that we realize you think it's bad (as do I, but I plan on playing HC) but as you have voiced your opinion MANY times already, lets move onto something else and keep our fingers crossed that Dice fix it! <3 :D

I think EL JOCK hit the nail on the head with both his posts above. If you don't like it, vote with your feet and avoid buying the game. I understand you have a passion for BF2 and would like to see the next generation of that game, in your eyes just as good as that one - but it seems for the majority of us, BF3 is shaping up to be a rather good game. However it seems for you there are certain aspects that don't fit well with you, I doubt very much Dice will change anything at this late stage so I think your're buggered on that front. Oh well, we'll miss you on the battlefield comrad.

I know exactly what you mean, but also find it very hard to explain. I honestly think one of the better things they've added is being able to see your legs and stuff. I know it's a minor thing, but it makes you feel more part of the game world and I really like it.

For an Alpha, I was blown away! I can't wait to see what changes they've made for Beta, and then again for the final release.

DICE do listen to the community which is a very positive thing.
