Riots in Tottenham, London! (NO RACIST COMMENTS)

Routine is crucial in raising well balanced children.

I agree it helps (well thats my opinion with no empirical evidence), but its hardly something to raise a fuss about. Besides, we don't know the exact circumstances.

They're her kids. Most kids are asleep by 8?

At their age yes, does this surprise you??

Why does that matter? I wouldn't go telling a parent who puts their children to sleep at 6, that its too early.
Because it generally points to her being a terrible parent - the type of parent who, I don't know, would take her kids for a walk whilst a riot's going on, putting them in unnecessary material danger?

Its the weekend, and the summer holidays anyway.
Kid's don't go to sleep early just because of school. A proper regime is actually quite a good thing for children to have in their lives so that they grow up to be able to control themselves.

Ah sorry, I didn't realise I was raising a fuss mentioning it, then noting another posters comment about how they may have lived where the trouble was. All apologies ;)

Idiots.

DPD, guess they are disappointed with OCUK's favorite courier.

Terrible parent? I'm not sure that's particularly fair from one photograph. You don't know anything about her, why she's there or where she's going or why. I can't see her in a seriously bad position, she's next to a lot of police and the area looks cleared of people. She could have been waiting for a safe route home for all you know.

Are you all being serious?

None of you ever stayed up late at weekends or holidays, never occasionally went out at the weekend with your parents to events or friends and stayed up a little later? Or went to sleep, and were woken to go to the car etc?

I did, and I have perfect control.

I think some people must have lived like robots as children by the sounds of it.

Camera crews used to enter war zones - now they wont even go to Tottenham. I appreciate that the BBC crew was attacked, but surely you just stay a bit far back rather than just giving up completely? Now there's no live coverage at all.
