I don't think I ever stayed up this late even on NYE as a child.

I did. Probably falling asleep by this point at NYE etc, but so what... A child who occasionally stays up late does not have automatically have 'terrible parents'.

Anyway I reckon it looks like she's trying to leave the area and getting her bairns to safety, like someone said earlier she may live above one of the shops.

Exactly. It would be a bit different if it was raining bricks and fire.

Morons, they've been caught on camera.

I can hear more police cars heading up stamford hill to tottenham.

Yup i can hear them all heading up aswell. Im closer to Stamford Hill than the riot, but i could be there in less than 5 minutes on bus.

Still not a patch on the scum in belfast! I can't believe the police left the cars!

What they need is some of our police landrovers as they can take some abuse.

You must be looking at a different photograph.

She isn't walking through a riot, she's walking through a rubbish and emergency vehicle strewen street.
In the first photo there's fire behind her and police horses walking towards her. There are reports of sporadic violence occurring all over that area. It is absolutely fair to describe the whole of that area as an active riot zone.

This is pointless conjecture as you do not know where she was going or had been.
I can't think of a single scenario that would justify her behavior. If she absolutely had to go outside you ring 999 and insist that you're escorted. If it's that important they will oblige, if it's not then she shouldn't be going outside at all.

Her front door could have been 2 ft away, or 2000ft.
Does it matter if how far away her door is? You stay indoors, close all the windows and stay away from the windows.

I can see you have your opinions and I have mine. I think she's being hopelessly negligent, you think her actions may be justified - lets agree to disagree.

BBC now reporting that their satellite link has been destroyed.

thanks to a labour mp yesterday calling for more information from the police like there was a cover up, someone shot a police officer and was shot and killed afterwards.
Tottenham MP David Lammy visited Ferry Lane on the Waltham Forest border with Tottenham, where 29-year-old Mark Duggan was killed after a shoot-out with police on Thursday (August 4).
...
Mr Lammy said: “There is now a mood of anxiety in the local community, but everyone must remain calm.

“It is encouraging that the Independent Police Complaints Commission has immediately taken over the investigation.

“There is a need to clarify the facts and to move quickly to allay fears.

“It is very important that our community remains calm and allows the investigation to take its course.”

maybe he should have ket quiet rather than trying to score political points.
Have you ever considered learning English?

At what point did Lammy "call for more information from the police like there was a cover up"?

How did anything he said lead to "someone shooting a police officer and getting shot and killed?

Dear merciful God, save us from the likes of KAK

Well this is going to hell in a handbasket. ;)

Just seen the footage of 'em taking hits at that police car, they try and brick the screen, that doesn't work so they throw a traffic cone at the roof and hit the waste of space opposite...
