Is 1GB VRAM enough?

However if they have only 1GB vram per GPU, they are still likely to suffer from lag spikes due to vram page fault. In such case, they can benefit from more than 1GB vram.

No they arent, and no they wont.

And as already stated, we are not pro players, and I've never heard mr Fatality or anyone else say that he needs 2 Gb Vram to win in online games.

OMG, quick, go and buy a trio of 3 Gb GTX 580s, turn all your graphics settings down for 100+ FPS at every possible instant in the game, and only then is it possible for you to win online games!

If only i could actually see these lag spikes which cause me to die - you know, for real, not on a graph (covered in jizz)

When pro players get cards into SLI/CF, they don't have to lower their graphics settings in order to achieve 100 fps. However if they have only 1GB vram per GPU, they are still likely to suffer from lag spikes due to vram page fault. In such case, they can benefit from more than 1GB vram.

Pro players are the sort who give a **** and buy 1600p and they also have 2B VRAM

Sure, you have never heard about GTA4 and Shogun 2 asking for more than 1GB vram unless you hack them either.

Yes, I've heard that maybe a thousand times from you so far. Dont you have any new arguments or examples instead of repeating the same old stuff?

GTA4 is most definitely a horribly coded console port. It doesnt even look half as good as the hardware required to run it.

Then how many games require more than a single GTX560 Ti 1GB?

Many many more games benefit from two 1 Gb GTX 560s over just one than games that benefit a teeny tiny bit from 2 Gb Vram.

You also didnt read the perfectly valid explanation of SSAA and SLI / CF that I already posted.

Trolololololololol.

I try to run Dragon Age origins maxed out with 8x SSAA. It runs too slow. I drop it down to 4x SSAA, it runs fine. I disable CF, 4x SSAA is too slow, so I need to change to 4x MSAA or turn CF back on to use SSAA.

That was on my 5770s by the way, not my current cards.

Same scenario with every new generation of games and hardware.

You are quoting a very old game. 1GB vram at the launch of Dragon Age Origins was worth 2GB vram as of today.

2 Gb Vram is still worth nothing today. At best, its worth an extra £2-5 extra over 1 Gb Vram in proportion to how little difference it actually makes.

Make up the list then. Don't show me games where a single GTX560 Ti 1GB can get more than 50fps.

If there arent many games according you that need more than a single GTX 560, then there surely cant be a sngle game in existance that requires anymore that 1 Gb Vram to run, nor anything faster than a GTX 560.

Ok then, heres a small list to get you started:

Witcher 2
Shogun 2
Metro 2033

All require more than a single GTX 560. Derp!

oh and btw whilst watching a video about the asrock fatal1ty edition motherboard, fatal1ty himself said that he uses a lower polling rate on his mouse as he thinks it is smoother

also don't you think that a pro gamer would rather use a 120hz monitor without using something like vsync which will require larger framerates than a 60hz monitor with vsync, as the gameplay will be much smoother

I guess this is gonna get a reaction from harmony, but I use a gtx 460 768mb card, and only a few games that I have can't be played at max (metro 2033, crysis 2 & The Witcher 2)

Well you dont say, you need to get triple GTX 580 3 Gb for them!

Go buy it now, your PC is bad at running games without it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
immah die if I don't buy, them sorry Cleeecooo and bhavv please don't hurt me for not having them :p:p:p

Thats one thig we all overlooked!

According to Harmony's words of wisdom, CPU and Ram dont matter, all you need is 3 Gb GTX 580s!

Damnit, I wish I was still using S939 and my 4400+ .... Oh wait, I had a crossfire board on it, so ok, that and two 6990s in quadfire would like run everything right?

(not to mention that my PC became a lot zippier and quicker when I went from 12 Gb to 24 Gb, but I'm trying to sell my 4 Gb modules now and go back to the faster for gaming 2 Gb ones).
