Actually, the best part of this is the majority of you lot would I have to assume are white, middle classed and privileged are blaming this all on Skin colour and 'lolling' when people come out to say that this is a result of the black/youth population is generally disenfranchised with the police and this country as a whole.

Its nice to see that the 'bury your head in the sand' approach still is alive and well despite the 'information' age :).

Anger at high unemployment and cuts in public services, coupled with resentment of the police, contributed to an explosion of violence and looting in a deprived London neighbourhood, residents said Sunday.

Quote:
"I have no job, no prospects, no anything. Then they wonder why there's crime," he said, adding he had been unemployed since he left school.

"This is the ghetto, this is the slums, they don't care about us. I've been stopped outside my house by the police for no reason. There's no jobs ... but still they want to cut benefits. We ain't got no way to survive and it's like no-one don't care about us.

"There's injustice and we've had enough," he added

Quote:
"Tension is building because of the coalition government's cost-cutting measures. People in the poorer communities of London and around the country are going to feel victimised," Allen, who said he was in his 40s

WTF.... got a view or just copy/pasting from the news websites?

Generations a joke they all speak like they are jamaican it's ridiculous

YOU GET ME oh my days

On to the reasons of these riots , did the lad who was shot actually have a gun when police raided his house? Or was it a mistake? Do you have any idea?

not at all. it's a case of them playing that card too many times and for too long. there's a lot of people in similar circumstances who don't do this.

funny how they seem to be drifting away from the original reason for this (the peace march, the shot drug dealer, the rough treatment of a girl under arrest) and now saying this has happened as a sort of cry for help.

help? what help do they need? ask them and they wouldn't know.

He had it on him when he was shot, going by what everything so far has said. It was also not at his house but in the streets.

Unconfirmed rumours say Nandos, cinema and Lidl in Enfield are burning, and Krispy kreme under attack.

Not the delicious doughnuts :(

Well apparently he did have a gun with him in the car. However, some people are saying (dubious but if the Guardian's comments are right, it could be true) it was always concealed within the car and never used.

They know that they are unhappy. That is all that they need to know.

This has been a long time coming. Its a shame that it seems to have been spurred on by the death of a drug dealer, but still.

As disenfranchised and disaffected as they may be....is smashing up the places that they live in going to help any of that?
