Are people saying that the guy who was shot didn't actually shoot at the police after all?
Also, I am confused? Are people here actually supporting all the looting?

This is what is being suggested in the newspapers, a bullet found lodged in a police radio is "police issue" (whatever that means), CO19 fired two shots and that the gun Mr Duggan was carrying ("non-police issue") was actually in his sock and therefore not ready for use.

Haven't read the whole thread but I don't think so. Criticising the police for sure but I don't think anyone condones the violence/looting.

Aww, you're special. Can you see the difference between me thinking some people who definitely are rioting and looting (I can see the bunch of degenerates on the telly), scum, and people rioting and looting because they think one of their lot was unlawfully killed by the police, yet have no evidence and some pretty dodgy circumstances (the **** was carrying a gun for christs sake!).

And impositions without cause? I can see these idiots kicking a window in, cause enough? Yeah.
 
Is it just me? I am failing to see why London's top police officer flying away on holiday BEFORE the riots broke out is an issue?

It'd be foolish to think the recession and coalition spending cuts haven't contributed in part to the current unrest. Haringey council has apparently seen a 75% reduction in its youth services budget (source) and it's not hard to imagine that no youth club = an increase in youths out on the streets with nothing to do.

Gangs of lads breaking in to currys and halfords what the hell. Most of them will get away with it or receive pathetic punishments.

Beat the granny out of them,clearly the only way. Oh no let me guess, we will buy them an iPad if they promise to stop and be good.
 
He deserved to be shot for carrying the gun anyways.

All this 'oooooh recession, Oooooh no youth club' is utter garbage as well. Wants nipping in the bud, makes no difference, they are sub human scum.

Why do people need youth clubs to not be ****s?

I grew up without one, as did most of my friends, I didn't vandalise, mug, and do other nasty things.
