Apparently the Police tactic is to hold back and record image then do dawn raids once culprits are identified.
Yes? What about it..?
BBC has cut the live images ...
Bus smashing on BBC?
Sky has tranquility at present..
That's never gonna happen!
No, the one I linked is what covers compensations for riotous activity. I am right. That riots are covered under the public order act. Not the one you linked.
The worse part is that the tax payer (the local authority) is liable for all losses caused by rioting and looting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riot_Act#Subsequent_history_of_the_Riot_Act_in_the_UK
The Riot (Damages) Act 1886 specifically is still on the statute books. The article says this
Wikipedia said:The Riot (Damages) Act 1886 provides compensation for Losses by Riots.[5]
They do it all the time in Northern Ireland during public order situations.
BBC has cut the live images ...
I still don't get it. These criminals number in the hundreds. The Met have 20,000 officers.
Forget the riot gear and just chase them down. (obviously where there is violence, deploy TSG)
That was two guys about 15 minutes before your post. Police were just watching.

If you'd have read the section I linked to specifically ('Subsequent_history_of_the_Riot_Act_in_the_UK')...
...it says as much:
The Riot (Damages) Act 1886 is still in force today![]()
