Can see my mates flat on the live coverage, as it's on the main street in Hackney. He's not going to bother trying to get home right now though.

I'm not sure the people waving were involved in any of it. That was in the middle of a residential area, they could just be locals looking at the burning car.

Yup, as far as I'm concerned everywhere out of central London has been a no-go area for some years now. If anything good comes out of this it's that commuter trains will no longer stop at stations like East Croydon or Clapham Junction.
 
Sorry but what use are the couple of Police helicopters hovering above Hackney? What are they actually doing other than filming? :confused:

I say bring in Airwolf.

They have an arial view so they can see if there are any groups gathering and they can send live updates to the officers on the ground.

Aside from filming and singling out flash points and riot leaders.... the most important thing they do is give an overview of the scene to the control room and the Officers overseeing the operation.

It's no different to a battlefield, if they have a birds eye view, they can move Police into the places they need to be.
