Hi Guys

Just got a ASUS P5QLD Pro motherboard in a Antec case. There are two 80mm case fans plugged into the 3-pin connectore for Chassis and Power fans.

Both are running flat out at just under 5000 RPM and are very noisy.

If I use the ASUS software it changes the CPU fan and it becomes slower and quieter but nothing I can adjust in the ASUS software or even Speedfan seems to make any difference to the other 2 case fans :(

Can anyone help as its just so noisy?

Does that mean I can't control my fans throught the motherboard or software?

Is there a fan controller that work on temp rather than a variable speed set by the user?
This PC will live in an area under my stairs, so needs to regulate its own temp with airflow into this area, pre-setting a slower speed wouldn't work in hotter weather.

I'm afraid not, according to the manual only the CPU Fan can be controlled on your motherboard. The other two will run at full speed all the time.

On my P5Q deluxe there is a QFan BIOS option to control case fans as well as CPU. Works a treat, my case fans are normally spinning at around 700 rpm, and my machine is virtually silent. Clearly there are differences in the P5Q family then in terms of BIOS options, I hadn't realised that

Unless i'm missing something obvious???

It is called "Chassis Q-Fan Control". Default is disabled. Once enabled you then have 3 profiles to choose from, standard, silent or turbo
